That's not quite what they're offering from what I'm getting from the video as the events will be free to subscribers, it'll be ppv for non-subscribers.

They already do PPV for non-subscribers (at a ridiculous price of around 30 quid!). If they ever tried to introduce PPV for subscribers as well, I think I'd just cancel both B0xnati0n & Sky Sports and pretty much stop watching live boxing on TV.

Doesn't look like it will be exactly free for Subscribers - we'll have to pay and get "reimbursed" - so the lay fans who are pissed on a Saturday can get the boxing via the red button cos it is easier, but the loyal fans will probably have to phone Sky / allegedly and go through hassle to get reimbursed.

It would surely be easier if it was Free on Chanel 437 (for subscribers) but non subscribers can get the event via the red button on sky - non of that reimbursed shite then.

That way, people who are not BoxN@ton subscribers can then simply pay £15.95 for the one of event, and those who subscribe will not have to pay anything... just like they dont now when they watch it in HD on channel 490!

Because by doing it that way, to watch people have to go through the process online of subscribing. This way all they have to do is push the red button and enter their viewing number or whatever it's called off their card.

Sky Distribution is the key to all of this, by lowering the price on allegedly itself it's still just a allegedly show, by going through Sky Distribution, they will market and distribute the fight on Sky Box Office.

I'm sure life used to be simpler.

I agree with the above comments about how this looks confusing at this stage, but BN have committed, publicly, to ensuring that BN subscribers will not have to pay more on the whole. Compare that with matchroom doing less regular sky shows and increasing the ppv events. THAT is fleecing fans. What fwank is trying to do is gain access to the 12 million sky customer base, and use his own boxing events to bring in new subscribers to the BN channel. I have criticised BN in the past but they say they will not charge us more and that is refreshing. Do we think the sky sports subscription will be reduced as more and more fighters and fights are switched from sky sports one to sky box office ? Not likely.....

Am buying one of them tinkered with amazon fire sticks in jan,i'll report back with my findings....

I though people who weren't subrscribers with BoxN@tion just had to press the SKY button on their remote, navigate to the box office section and then enter their code (usually 0000) and hey presto, no need to subscribe (albeit at £30)... Im not sure though as Ive always been a subscriber!

I think what Warren said at the end of that is key - it is a "allegedly" thing not a Queensbury thing.

I don't expect - A PPV involving Liam Smith and the Walsh boys..... but they could approach Mayweather (as an example) with a much more appealing offer now!

I'll reserve judgement and see if the Loyal fans get an increase in subscription cost in the near future.... plus what worries me is the steps to get reimbursed.... Paywizzard is a horrible system that I don't particularly trust.

Surely it can be free on 437 for subscribers and not free for box office users.

I imagine he's lining himself up to put on a potential Haye-Fury fight.

I like this Georgie kid. He is the smart one of the brothers. FW should steps aside and leaves it in his hands ASAP.

Could not they run it on both platforms simultaneously. So that subscribers watch it on BoxN and non-subscribers on the Sky red button.

I kNow jackshizzle about streaming devices as i've always just payed for ppv/bn but i'm sick of paying over a ton a month for sky.

Matchroom have exclusivity with sky sports box office. George Warren has been very strewed here and has gone to sky box office via ofcom. It opens big allegedly events to all sky subscribers via the red button and obviously sky get a cut so would make business sense for sky to promote on sky sports news. Can't see this as a bad thing.

I can see allegedly having to put on very big fights for their shows to be a box office ppv success - So, let's see what they come up with.

This is what I didn't really get - they spent the first half of the interview highlighting the difference between SKY Sports & SKY as the distributive platform. They then implied that SKY Sports News might hype up their PPV because it would make SKY money...but where's the incentive if a) they are distinct, and b) the BN PPV is potentially competing with a SKY Sports PPV?

It was hardly groundbreaking stuff. I still think there's a fairly big leap to see large numbers of extra casual viewers heading for a BN PPV just because they can order it by the remote - I mean plenty found there way there for Haye-Chisora. Anyway we shall see...
