In the last 50 years, the top 4 greatest punchers that come to my mind are:
Julian Jackson
Thomas Hearns
Mike Tyson
George Foreman

I mean, these four were brutal natural punchers. Two bad Tyson never fought Big George and The Hawk never fought The Hitman. Ironically, they were in the same era.

good list ,maybe tyson wasn't a one punch finisher like the others but he'd land 3 and they were gone

I think, of the last 50 years, in my view, pound per pound, Julian "The Hawk" Jackson is the best puncher. OMG! that guy was a beast! I saw his video clips and it's unbelievable how did he put some KO victims to sleep. One shot, boom! And the opponents were falling like pine trees. What freaking KO monster!

His KO wins of Herol Graham and Terry Norris were so devastating that I ask myself what this guy eat for breakfast?

same here the other guys were out the instant he landed no need for a count . seriously scary puncher . amazing really that he never got the big build up that he would of today

Vitali was an arm puncher, he didn't punch harder than Holyfield.

Obviously from the list, you know nothing about the eras so i won't waste much time, but I think Marvin johnson should at least be top 70.

KMy favorite rebuttal to the KO% is Hector Camacho had a higher one than Ike Williams.

Julian Jackson consistently produced chilling KOs, most of the guys were gone before they hit the deck with no chance of even trying to beat the count, I've really never seen another guy with that kind of natural power.

Vitality wasn't a KO artist but my eff he could dish out a pizza face.
Sure, he wasn't Malinaggi. Big strong dude, the facial destruction is a testament to how silly he is at the top of this list. Shavers never delivered a beating like Briggs took because he was showered, drinking a beer and eating a steak by then.

I guess you right Shavers are Vitali wasn't ko artist's but don't criticize me for my effort,Vitali wasn't much of a power puncher but he still delivered punishment.

Vitali is still too high, pavlik is absurd. Marvin was a classic boxer/puncher with plenty of power, but not that high on this list. There are just too many holes to fill, half don't belong and the ones that do are terribly placed. Tua is waaaay too high. LOL, nice effort.

Who did Vitali Klitschko ever actually knock on the floor with his 87% KO ratio?

Just give me one top name, known for his chin.

You're about to discover how misleading statistics are.

Joe Calzaghe over Shavers, Gomez, Wlad, Lewis, Haye, Benn and others? Are you serious? OK, I guess it's not in order but still you should add Corrie Sanders, Riddick Bowe, Bert Cooper, Tim Witherspoon, Michael Moorer, Ezra Sellers, Evander Holyfield, Carl Thompson and Buster Douglas (McCall said that Douglas was the second hardest puncher he ever fought or sparred with after Bert Cooper) to this list. Also guys like GGG, Pacquiao, Stevenson and Kovalev ashould be here too. I guess you didn't include them because they are still active, but Wlad, Haye and Briggs are still active too.

You're about to discover how misleading statistics are.
He ko'd Herbie Hide & Oldlanier Soli,Okay man you prove your point
Herbie Hide is infamous for his glass chin. Only twice in his long career did he fight a consensus ranked top 10 opponent - Bowe and Klitschko - and he was down roughly 10 times in those two fights. If you're arguing that Vitali Klitschko was a puncher, and especially that he was harder puncher than Earnie Shavers - often referred to by experts as the Puncher of the Century - then Herbie Hide is the worst example you can use. And Odlanier Solis never achieved anything in the pros, and has a poor reputation.

Vitali Klitschko, in spite of an inflated KO ratio, couldn't put Obed Sullivan on the floor. Grant put him on the floor prior to Klitschko, and David Tua laid him out clean in 30 seconds immediately after Klitschko. Those men could punch. Vitali couldn't put Chris Byrd on the floor, who Ibeabuchi and Wladimir both decked repeatedly. He couldn't put Vaughn Bean down, who Holyfield decked. He couldn't put an old Lennox Lewis down with his best shot - a man twice one-punch KOd by genuine punchers. Vitali, amazingly, couldn't even put Corrie Sanders down - a 40 year old man with a glass chin. He couldn't put Shannon Briggs (!!) down - a 40 year old man with a glass chin. He couldn't put Chisora down - who David Haye then splattered.

If you take the time to analyse that impressive sounding KO ratio, you realise there is little substance to indicate Vitali is a puncher. He doesn't belong in any list of the great heavyweight hitters, let alone a broader all-divisions list.

think some people are getting confused by the difference between stoppages and actual kos , and by ko I mean rendering someone unconscious .

Zarate, Olivares, Gomez would easily be in my top 20, Arguello in the top 10, maybe top 5. Might also include Khaosai Galaxy, Jorge Castro and Julio Cesar Vasquez and Juan Roldan as guys who could take people out with one big punch. Not sure about some on the list, like Harry Simon, who I never thought of as even an above-average hitter.
