Pointless fight for me mate, the guy was beaten by Nikola Sjekloca whom Callum has already beaten.

Tyron Zeuge would have been a step up, he's unbeaten and has a similar record to Smith.

Unless I am mistaken he hasn't held the European belt as yet so the opponent is largely irrelevant. It's probably about getting another box ticked as European champion.

If he wins this then he would have held English, British, European and WBC international belts. It won't do anything harm to his CV.

Smith wins this with ease.

If Eddie is struggling for a PPV at the end of the year I wouldn't be surprised to see him make Smith-JDG with Aj on the undercard.

I hope he isn't going to win the title just to vacate it without a single defence, like Hearn likes his fighters to do.

Decent enough fight for Smith. Like to see boxers still going the traditional route of English, British and European titles. Sky can pull out the old "never been stopped" card for Mohoumadi. Smith has boxed less than a round since the Rebrasse fight last June, don't really want to be going into a world title fight after another knock over, more rounds against a tough, albeit limited opponent will be better preparation.

The frightening thing is that's true!

I think this is a good fight for Smith. It's another decent level fighter and he is on a okay run of form since Degale who he posed some serious questions to at times.

SMW is a very shallow division now, and the step to the top guys is quite steep. If i were Hearn i would take this and try and make an in house Martin Murray fight before going for a belt.

On another note i see Degale is scheduled to defend against Jose Uzcategui next, thats a really dissapointing name on the back of fights against Dirrell and Bute.

Murray is about as good as the belt holders.

Smith might as well go for a title instead of fighting Murray.

Sorry i should add, I dont believe he is at his highest potential when fighting at 168, he loses a lot of his physicality against the bigger guys.

Murray vs Abraham could have gone either way.

Abraham has more power, but I'm not sure that he's got anything else that is more threatening than what Murray has (apart from his ability to get the judges' decision).

this is a good fight for both men and both can take something away from it with a win.

Smith win - takes the EBU belt to add to his British title and gets a step closer to world ranking.
Mohoumadi win - Successful defence of his EBU title against an up and coming British prospect and potentially sets up bigger fights.

Just a case of who would actually fight Callum for it. Jamie Cox seems interested, but Callum is nailed on as a future world champion for me, so most would prefer to wait for him to win a world title so they can either get a shot for that or the vacant British.
