Tua was too small, too fat, too predictable. Both Klitschkos would beat him by wide UD. Tim Witherspoon would be much, much tougher opponent for either of Klitschko brothers

Something happened to David post the Ibeabuchi fight....a fight that I thought he just might have won. I think he lost some of his enthusiasm after that close one.

I lot of what happens to some fighters is all about how their psyche's hold up in the clutch. His first loss left an indelible impression on him I'm afraid.

Great chin, big punch, but a very limited fighter was David Tua.

He displayed how little he had to offer when he was shut out by Lewis.

Both Klitschkos would do the same, winning one sided decisions over the powerful but slow and one dimensional Samoan.

His weight starts creeping up after Ibeabuchi. Before that he was a busier, exciting fighter. And then after the Rahman win, where he earned his mandatory, he began to balloon up into the traditional David Tua we all know and lament.

I don't think Wladimir wanted any part of him.

Was gonna post something to that effect. What Peters did, I'm pretty sure Tua can duplicate, possibly with a better result. He wasn't as slappy as the Nigerian.

he earned nothing against rahman. Owned twice. He's overrated as a puncher, but obviously would have a punchers chance with wlad, vitali outpoints him wide.

Puncher's chance vs Wlad, but I fully expect both Wlad and Vitali would win a clear cut decision over him almost always if they fought. Vitali I think would beat him everytime.

Pretty much that Revival.

The first version of Wlad might have come a cropper because Tua had the power but it is a relatively narrow window. In most scenarios I just see them keeping David on the end of a scoring jab - using that reach advantage - for round after round with a bit of holding when he gets close.

In all likelihood the fights would be deathly dull!

Vitali was always the more positive/entertaining in my opinion and might well have opened-up at some point.

As he showed against Lewis, he had no fighting brain nor a plan B.

The K2s would have outpointed him widely.

Tua was massive puncher, but it often took ages before he connected. Nicholson outpointed him with the jab (though only for a couple of rounds), and Oquendo almost made the distance. Wide UD for any Klitschko.

Could Tua do what Sam Peter, Davaryll Williamson, Marius Wach and David Haye did, and tag Wladimir? Yes. And he was a much better finisher than any of those guys. The second he hurt a man Tua came alive and swarmed them with bombs. You can't rule it out at all, Lennox Lewis Wlad ain't.

Tua couldn't get rid of Maskaev early and he had to throw a late punch to hurt Rahman. He could definitely punch, but it's not like he was Shavers. Wlad would jab and hold him relentlessly.

3rd and particularly 12th rounds.

Neither of them landed anything big in the entire fight. Haye's hook in the 12th was probably the biggest punch but he was off balance and had no leverage on it. Peter and Williamson were before Wlad perfected his more effective, jab and clutch style. He could also hurt Tua. It's like 80/20 Wlad for me, David is immensely overrated in mythical fights and the Ibeabuchi fight is probably the most overrated historical fight this side of The Rumble In The Jungle.
