Sure Hearn cant put this one up on PPV. He said in an interview I read that it wouldn't sell over here so seems odd that he is staging it. he has also gone on record saying that Brook is a bonafide PPV boxer.

Hopefully he sticks it on the o2 card to bulk up the AJ pay per view so then maybe we could at least save one decent fight for a normal sky sports card around March/April/May.
Could even stick it on the Frampton/Quigg card but I doubt it

Terrible fight, hardly even worth watching for free, let alone on PPV.

Whether it's Brook's fault, Hearn's fault, the IBF's fault or a mix of all 3, Dan, Gavin and Bizier is a terrible first 3 defenses. So frustrating.

Dan and Bizier were mandatory defences so they're the IBFs fault. Frankie Gavin was a voluntary I think so that's at Hearn's door. Can't really blame Kell for anything, he just wants Khan. Will be worth three questionable defences if that one finally gets made

Yeah hopefully it does. But if he beats Khan, I'd like to see a genuine attempt to prove he's the best in the division by taking on the other big names, not going backwards and fighting Eggington or someone like that.

A mandatory is a mandatory, unfortunately. Hopefully get him out of the way and then go for someone like Garcia - go to Vegas and beat him in a show topper.
It seems to me that Khan doesn't want to box Brook, so they may as well box the other guys and Garcia strikes me as someone that will box anyone.

Brook is throwing his career away at the moment. It is tough if you get injuries, but he needs to get real. Having a World title is all well and good if the quality of your mandatory opponents are half decent, but Jo Jo Dan and Kevin Bizier are not exactly what we hoped for. Add to that the ridiculous decision to put him in with Frankie Gavin. I was so happy for Brook when he beat Porter, but I would say that it has probably hindered his development instead of opened new doors for him.
At this point in his career he should be looking at Top 10 opponents only. If that means that he has to relinquish his belt, then so be it.

Totally agree. Always been a big brook fan but his career is getting so frustrating. I actually begrudge him and Khan their big summer date at the moment and think they both need to prove themselves again before milking that one. Khan v Porter, Brook v Thurman or just opponents in and around that caliber.
I'd seriously consider vacating and chasing the bigger fights, as it just goes to show, a belt isn't much of a bargaining tool anymore. Can still say that he won the belt, nobody can take that away.

Agreed, he has been a World title holder, but if that belt is holding him back from bigger fights, then bin it. Boxers chase money, and at the moment there is no money in that belt. It should be a great carrot to dangle in front of the other big names in the division, but too much focus seems to be on Khan.....who is also wasting his time and talent at the moment.

Problem is when you waste a voluntary on Frankie Gavin you're sort of looking implicit in wasting your own time

After winning his belt he got on tv a lot and I really thought he would go on and become a massive household name and have some really big fights over here but now feel hes wasted it. Can see him and Khan looking back in a few years time with a lot of regrets.

There are a few fights that I would happily pay to see Brook in but he's not a PPV fighter on his own the way Naz was and I think that's what Hearns trying to insinuate. I really like Brook but enough is enough. This fight may be a mandatory but Brook gains nothing from it. He could end up overlooking Bizier as he's lost to Dan twice, someone who Brook easily beat, and go in and look terrible. The IBF have to shoulder some blame here too. Their rankings are a piss take here in a division laden with talent.

Totally agree with this especially with the fact that he's big at the weight and the time will soon come when he has to move up to 154.
Had he fought Chaves that would've been a worthwhile fight. We can't be sure he really fancied that one though.

Well it is Brook's fault aswell. Obviously Dan and Bizier were and are mandatory defences but they knew that and especially knew that when choosing Gavin as an opponent. Also they're so desperate for the Khan fight and the payday without willing to take any risk in the meantime that it's frankly embarrassing. By the way Errol Spence jnr is next in line after Bizier. If Brook cant nail down Khan you watch him run away to 154. He'll do that if he gets the Khan fight or not that actually.

Shouldnt have fought Gavin then ffs and wasted one of his voluntary defences. The truth is Brook is willing to take a risk unless it's against Khan and that's only because it will be a huge pay day. The only real risk he's ever taken was against Porter and that's because he had no other real option at the time if he wanted the world title shot.

it will be 2 years at least since he fought a live body (his only live body)
if I was khan I wouldn't fight him either.... he is doing literally nothing & chasing the golden egg
khan can retire now £30m up so I am sure he wont have any regrets

The only way Khan will fight brook, is if the chips are down and he feels he can steal the limelight by beating Brook.
the problem is that Khan seems pretty delusional, he doesn't seem to notice that he's fading into bolivian (sic).

This I want the fight to happen and now that Mayweather / Pacman are off the table think he should fight Brook but if I was Khan can't deny I'd think fornicate Brook whats he done to deserve the fight hes not willing to take any risk at all to force the fight.
Imagine if he fought Garcia or even Peterson and beat them that would put huge pressure on Khan to fight him but as others have said think the only risk Hearn and Brook want to take is the Khan fight as they know it will be big money. Shows a lack of faith and confidence in my opinion.

its like Brook is playing conkers
but he isn't playing... he is stood at the edge of the playground waiting for the 'sixtyer' to get all bruised and battered and then finish him off & take all his past credit

Atrocious standard of opponent. Look at the level of quality in the division and then look at the level of quality Brook has faced- it is absolutely scandalous and a total waste of talent.
I think Brook is one of the most technically proficient boxers around but I don't think he believes in himself. I can see it when he boxes and when he's under pressure. If he has any desire to fight the best then he would be screaming at Eddie to make the fights- I think there is a touch of the joe Calzaghe about him and his mindset for most of his career. Absolutely criminal.
