If Wilder opts to unify

Instead of fight Povetkin

He deserves the hate he gets, every last bit of it.
Because it will be an act of sheer cowardice and nothing more.
Of course it didn't take a crystal ball to predict what was going on, when Martin vs Glaskov landed on the same bill as the Wilder bout.

IF he opts to unify. It isn't a done deal, nor has anyone said it is. Of course it is an option, as it would have been to fight Wlad if he had won. Relax, take a chill pill. The world isn't ending. People are upset that he might not go to Russia, now he might take the unification option. Lets have a few more threads please about what Wilder might or might not do, or how he was lucky to win, or how much he is over-rated.

Does it bother anybody that Al Hayman may have manipulated the quick stripping of the IBF from Fury,
leading to a fight between two lower tier contenders (one of which he represents), leading to Wilder
(who he owns) getting a shot at another world title belt with light opposition.
If this was Fury (and I'm not a fan. He's a jerk.) he would have had to fight Povitken two fights ago or
been stripped (example IBF title).
I'm not saying he got Glazkov to take a dive.........

Povetkin could have enforced the mandatory sooner. If I remember, it was he who said he wouldn't be ready until the spring.

Personally, I think having the belts unified is a good thing and don't care enough about povetkin to be upset if wilder never fights him. If wilders next two fights are martin and then fury I will be perfectly happy.

povetkin was saying he wouldn't be ready until june, anyway, so at this rate
wilder could fight martin in april and if he wins the winner could be contractually
bound to fight povetkin in july. fury fights wlad in meantime and maybe has a
voluntary before meeting wilder if he and fury still have all the titles.

Duva for team Glazkov pushed the IBF to strip Fury.
Haymon wasn't to blame for this one, but he managed to get another heavyweight title fall into his lap. :TU:

I believe that was the plan, Wilder vs Glazkov for beltx2.

But Martin's win(Glazkov retirement) came in surprise - who will pay money to watch Wilder vs Martin(WHO????)?

So Wilder team went to negotiate Wilder vs Povetkin...

Pro boxing is a business, before all 8)

This was definitely creatively orchestrated by Haymon as evidence of the early stripping of the belt and the quickness that they threw together the title fight on the Wilder undercard. This was the plan the whole time but they just didn't plan on Martin walking out with the belt. To me, it makes the decision a little harder because no one really knows what we have yet in Martin. He could be a tougher out for Wilder than they want.

I may be in the minority but please don't make me watch Povetkin fight again. I watched his fight with Wlad and it was the second worst championship fight i've ever seen to Fury/Wlad. I'd MUCH rather see Wilder vs Martin for consolidation of the straps. I'm all for that one. Two huge young raw bulls just swinging for the fences for it all. Ten time better fight to watch than Povetkin could ever produce. EVER>
