So instead of making the #1 (Khan) and #2 (Garcia) ranked fighters fight for the belt, WBC decided to make Garcia who is #2 in rankings (somehow) fight Guerrero, who at the time was #15!!! in the rankings. Right after the announcements they moved Guerrero (SOMEHOW) to the #6 position.
How can a cherry picker like Garcia and Guerrero who got his ass kicked by Martinez and Thurman, fight for the most "prestigious" belt?!

Haymon manages all the fighters in the top 7 in the WBC rankings. There is literally no excuse. Haymon has been protecting his prime crop from fighting against each other for way too long and people still think he is the "best thing to happen to boxing". Have fun watching these BS match ups on "premier" boxing chumps.

I think an almost bigger joke is that Khan is the number 1 contender!

All Khan does these days is sit around waiting for Pacquiao, Mayweather Jr or some other person who can give him his career highest payday to send him a postcard.

He does very little actual fighting.

hopefully haymon has the judges bribed because if guerrero is

Khan vs Brook looks very unlikely since Khan wants a guaranteed $10 million, 80-20 split? Maybe Khan could fight Spence next, for a tune up. He will give 80-20 to Khan. I really doubt if Garcia fights him. No point, not like he got robbed.

Although I agree with you, had they made the Khan vs Garcia the mandatory match up for the title, Khan would likely have turned it down because he was waiting on some other mythical money making opportunity

All i know is that during the time of the matchmaking of this fight Khan being considered for a bout with Manny but somehow Khan supposedly priced himself out of it which lead to him being out of the picture for the Garcia fight which had to be made before a certain timeframe.

I'm not excusing the matchmaking of the Garcia vs Guerrero fight because it was a great fight despite RG not really being deserving of a title shot.

I find it funny that so many are still shocked when the ABC's make up fake ratings to get the fights they want. I used to be bothered by it, but not any more.
