Assuming it happens this year subject to boxing politics and all that. Who wins between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury and how?

I doubt that it will happen this year but if it did it could easily go either way. I would lean very slightly towards Fury, at the moment.

Just my own opinion, but on the lone occasion that I've seen Fury really get hit clean on the chin by a world class opponent ( albeit, a natural cruiserweight not even known as a banger in his own weight class ), he was dropped. Hard.
Now, credit where credit is due, Fury's done a great job at not being there for any big shots in his fights since that time. Including in his title winning effort against Klitschko.
But, I think, should he get past Wlad in their rematch & actually fight Wilder, that the American will land his right hand on Fury's chin & when he does... it'll be lights out for Fury.

as if wilder had a great chin. i'd say they are well matched and it would be a good fight.
they both are still developing so who knows in a year how the fight would go and what
their gameplans would be.

I'd favor Fury by a hair, but they're both fighters with a whole lot of flaws in their game to be exploited. No outcome would surprise me.

I would pick Wilder by KO.

Fury has shown he isn't a banger, and while I don't think it needs one to stop Wilder, it gives Deontay that extra chance to get up, or recover and get back in the fight if he is caught.

Whereas we know Fury can be dropped and hurt by non-punchers. While he has also shown he can recover, I don't believe he has been hit nearly as hard as Wilder is capable of.

This idea of Fury having defensive nous is a red herring. He never had a good defence and hasn't magically learned one now, just because he fought a Punch Man bag in his last fight. One thing is for sure, Wilder will be throwing leather at him and I don't think Fury can cope with it.

Fury getting dropped but getting up is better than not getting dropped and flopping all over the place going into a shell not wanting to be there

Wilders poor jab and slow feet will make this an uncompetitive fight. He wont be allowed to trade either, Fury will tie him up quickly. So Wilders only chance would be to jump in and hit Fury with something big. Essentially a punchers chance. A remote chance.

What does that mean?

What is getting dropped soft?

It depends on where the fight takes place, as Peter Fury may be unable to enter the US due to his previous convictions and having him in his corner could well be the difference between victory and defeat for Tyson.
