At cruiserweight, number one contender Dmytro Kucher will face recent world title challenger Ovill McKenzie for the vacant cruiserweight title following highly-ranked Tony Bellew’s decision to relinquish the blue belt.

Bellew won the strap by defeating Mateusz Masternak in London on December 12 but opted against a first defence against Kucher as a recognised title opportunity looms on the horizon. That leaves Kucher, and now McKenzie, to fight it out to become the new Continental champion.

Purse bids have been set for February 1.

I love it when fighters come good after a poor start. I was a huge fan of Dennis Andries back in the day & then Steve Robinson after him.

I remember when Andries lost the rubber match to Harding & he was at a Duke McKenzie bout the next day, mixing with the fans. Top bloke.

I agree - I loved watching Andries fight, and was gutted when he lost the third Harding bout. Remember listening to Andries v Hearns on BBC radio (I forget which station as I think it was well before Five Live days) and being amazed how Andries kept getting up and even (unofficially) floored Hearns. And all power to Ovill too - hope he pulls it off and gets another world title shot.

I remember watching that fight. I think it was on BBC on a Saturday afternoon about a week after it happened. I was at the pub & when I went outside afterwards it had snowed.

That it my memory. It is now our memory.
