These charity boxing things are always good light hearted fun.
Who's donated then? I felt quite generous, I would have felt guilty otherwise.

They both deserve a lot of credit. No-one's expecting them to be boxing experts but given the short space of time I think they did really well.
Let's not forget the whole point is to raise money for charity.
Those clips in between of really poor children having to work for a living - for example the 2 year old girl who collects mica 6 days a week - was depressing.

that was Eurosport like scheduling! I taped the show that i thought started at 10.00 and went on till 10.15 (according to the TV guide)...i thought this seemed a little short so recorded for an hour and all i got were some previews. And i just switched over to find the result

Ben Fogle was the proud owner of the Sport Relief Light Entertainment Boxing Belt after beating Sid Owen in the charity's Celebrity Boxing match.
The former Castaway heartthrob could also boast to being the undisputed people's champions after winning 68% of the public vote.
More than 130,000 votes were made within 15 minutes of the fight ending.
Owen shaded round one after an energetic start, but Fogle's stamina was the key as he finished on top.
TV presenter Fogle, 31, and former EastEnders star Owen, 32, have faced six gruelling weeks of training in preparation for the celebrity fight.
In the red corner, former Castaway heart-throb Fogle weighed in at a trim 12st 11lb, while his stockier rival revealed a fighting weight of 12-13.5.
But fitness proved crucial as Owen looked a spent force by the last of the three one-and-a-half minute rounds.
"I have only been training for a couple of weeks, but that is on the back of running the Sands Marathon, which is 150 miles across the Sahara Desert in six days, so I felt fit enough," said Fogle who, at six feet exactly, towered above his rival.
Owen had promised to "give it 200m%" and was good to his word in a powerful start.
But his trainer Frank Maloney, who coached Ricky Gervais last year, was forced to accept a first-ever Celebrity Fight defeat.
Fogle was clearly delighted at surprising those who had believed he was "too posh to punch".
Following his patient performance he paid tribute to his trainer Jim McDonnell, who currently looks after British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Danny Williams, and mentor Frank Bruno.
"I used to dread training with Jim but I owe so much to them," Fogle said.
In the true tradition of boxing, both fighters adopted menacing nicknames.
Animal Park presenter Fogle opted for "The Bear" because of his wildlife background and in honour of his Canadian father.
Hissing Sid Owen, whose mentor was former world featherweight champion Barry McGuigan, was known as The Snake.

I was going to watch this, but had less then 4 hours sleep on Friday night, so just couldn't keep my eyes open. I don't have as much of an issue with this celebrity boxing as some people do, if its taken in the right way. I mean its supposed to be a bit of fun, not serious.
The only one I saw properly was the Ricky Gervais one. I thought the documentary was interesting because it showed how hard people have to train for boxing, even for only three 1-and a half minute rounds. If it creates respect and generally interest in the sport then its good. Though, I guess peoples ideas of the sport might be tainted, they might think its some kind of novelty act, I suppose. But sport is to be enjoyed after all......

I saw it, standard was a better than the last two fight, Fogle won it clean for me. By the sounds of it, it now appears that both guys could be discussed in the amateur section of this forum, it was a legitimate contest.

No. Not a chance. Not ever. They did well considering they only had a small amount of time to prepare, but there was no natural talent shown from either of them. Owen was knackered after the first round, and Fogle's footwork was so bad it was untrue. Will Gervais is a natural athlete. I'm serious. I can't think of anybody other then maybe Butterbean that his natural ability.

Totally disagree with the opinion that Gervais v Bovey was a better display of boxing. Several times might be stretching it a little. He only landed it a few times, and that was when Owen was totally out on his feet. Bovey managed to do much the same thing to Gervais towards the end of their bout. And it was at least 3 times that Owen's face landed on Fogle's jab - I have video footage
