after stopping Pascal for the second time, who should Sergey Kovalev face next?

Stevenson doesn't look like it will get made anytime soon and Ward is already booked for March, so who in the meantime?

Is he not meant to be fighting Ward in June?

Andre Ward is fighting Sullivan Barrera on March 26th. Depends if Ward is going to do back-to-back camps.
Kovalev will be sat around for at least 5months waiting...

He might fight his WBO mandatory Boesel.

He won't be fighting any of the Haymon boxers like Fonfara and Beterbiev.

Chilemba (also with Main Events) and Shabranskyy came to mind first, though I wasn't aware that Boesel was a mandatory. Barrera would make sense too (mandatory + with Main Events), so if he doesn't fight Ward I can see him fighting Kovalev. The others in the poll are with Haymon and Skoglund seems well-protected, so I don't think it will be one of them.

I was under the impression that the bout would occur near the end of the year.

The Ward fight even if it happens will not happen until late 2016 or 2017 so in the meantime Kovalev will fight his mandatory. No Haymon fighter will fight him and the Stevenson fight will now never happen. Chavez? You must be joking. I would love to see that though.

Why would anyone want to see Kovalev fight Chavez? Jr will quite after the first punch that lands.

I'd like to see him blast Fonfara.....since Adonis will not fight and he won't, he might as well destroy the dude that posed so much problems.

What's happened to Beterbiev? He hasn't fought for ages and I don't see anything scheduled.
