He won a silver medal at the 1984 Olympics. He served time for pistol-whipping his girlfriend's father. He fought the best men at featherweight, lightweight and light-welter. He gave Kostya Tszyu one of his hardest ever fights.

Got suspended for smoking weed I think - I remember his 10 round fight with a fast rising KT. Gave the Rusian/Aussie plenty to think about. Lopez looked like one tough hombre.
