Anthony Joshua's heavyweight title fight with Charles Martin has sold out in 90 seconds.

Eddie Hearn confirmed all tickets had been sold in a minute and a half during a press conference on Friday.



'It's so soon but when the opportunity has presented itself it was something we looked at seriously, as Charles Martin called me out,' Joshua told Sky Sports.

'When I go out to fight I go out to fight, I go out to knock people out and that's the same with all my opponents, that's why they've always been entertaining.

'That's why I think 15 fights in this opportunity has presented itself, because of the style and the way I come to fight.'

Martin is doing exactly what everyone has been begging for. He is going after the biggest challenge available and he is going into his lair to confront him.

While his belt is a joke, Martin's heart and fighting spirit appear to be world class.

Joshua also did not have to take this fight. He has only had 15 fights. He could have gone the Wilder route.

I'm glad to see the excitement here. Bogus titles aside, it's a really good fight and the kind that should be happening more often.

Most of those tickets were snapped up by shady ticket touts, back on sale at silly money apparently

He's also going to earn more fighting AJ than he would from 5 soft defences in the U.S. It makes perfect sense, also he might win!

Based on what I have seen of him, I would have to agree that Martin does not look "that good." However, I do believe that he was in the process of walking the undersized Glazkov down, due to the fact that there was nothing to fear from him pop-wise. I think that Martin had everything to do with Glazkov's injuries.

It seemed to be when he landed a shot, I don't think I've seen that happen before.

That seems far-fetched to me based on the video. What exactly was the pressure (all 2.5 rounds of it--actually more like half a round since little happened over the first 2) doing to his knee?

Torn ACL and meniscus, and dislocated knee. Apparently did when he slipped early in the third. 10-12 months out injured.

I think you're reaching. Very little happened over the first two rounds and Martin stepped it up just a bit for half of the the third, not beyond a point Glazkov hadn't seen against USS, Rossy, or multiple amateur opponents. Glazkov's foot slipped awkwardly and Martin wasn't even throwing when the injury happened.

One tiny snippet does not show the story but even in that snippet you can see how Glazkov was throwing while also attempting to avoid The incoming from Martin. He succeeded in making Martin miss but he injured himself in the process.

So how was the earlier pressure causing Glazkov's ACL to tear?

Martin wasn't even throwing, he was just holding his arm out to measure Glazkov. That type of thing happens all the time and I've never heard of it being an effective technique to mess up someone's knee.

Glazkov definitely undersized in this division. Also his KO rate is pretty low, so clearly lacks the power in this division. I don't think anyone expected him to come though this fight anyway, even though Martin is not that highly regarded, but purely because he's a bigger man and can punch.

That said, Martin did not apply any kind of 'pressure' in my opinion. He hadn't even hit him with any meaningful shots or thrown any combos or made it look as though Glazkov was in any kind of trouble at any point. He threw 106 punches in 3 rounds with only 26 landing. I'm probably not going to put that down to a barrage. I think Martin would have eventually gone on to win the fight, but the injury occurred irrespective of Martin being in the ring with him.

You don't have to land to apply pressure. Glazkov felt / was aware of Martin's power and the increased pressure and he overcompensated, IMO (even if it was subconsciously).

Joshua is a legit draw, and rightfully so.

I don't think anyone is disputing that Joshua is a draw. I think the problem is the speed that the tickets were lapped up and subsequently up for sale on sell on sites.

I personally was a LOT more surprised that the tickets went in 90 seconds than Joshua getting 440k PPV buys.
