Marco Huck vs Ola Afolabi 4

Should be another great fight this weekend, still hard to believe that Afolabi hasnt beaten Huck yet,1st two fights couldve easily gone to him,i thought the 3rd fight was Huck's clearest win yet and that was still a MD but that was a while ago now and he's coming off the bad loss to Glowacki where Afolabi's coming off the great KO over Chakhiev

Huck's came back well after a KO loss before to Cunningham but he was much younger then and hadnt been in as many wars and Afolabi's looked on the slide before the Chakhiev win so its another tough one to call,Marco had Glowacki down heavily before getting stopped out the blue so i wouldnt say he took a beating

Afolabi is a warrior though and always gives his all and i think this time he can finally not only beat Huck but KO him....hopefully :box:

It's a good fight though i would rather see them both fight other people at this point.

Slightly favour Huck again.

What's the point?

They should both be going after the champions, not each other again.

I fancy Ola to do the job this time out, Huck is definitely on the decline. Shame this will clash with the Frampton /Quigg card really.

They knock lumps out of each other every time they meet, who is Afolabi's manager? He seems to want him dead.

Ola is the most under appreciated British boxer since Clinton Woods. Wish he was with Matchroom or FW so he could have fought for a world title over here.

Fancy Ola here, wish there was more on the line than the IBO if it was one of the other 4 titles I think Eddie would of looked to make Bellew vs the winner

Agree, hardly get's any press over here. Fair enough he's based his career in USA but he's till British at the end of the day. Underrated power and got a granite chin as well, sparred numerous heavweights along with the likes of Kovalev and Golovkin and not aware of him ever being really in trouble during his career.

Considering he had virtually no amateur experience he's learnt on the job and got some great wins on his record. If he beats Huck (think he will) would like to see him fight winner of Mckenzie Kucher for EBU title although can see Enzo Mac meeting that winner. I would love to see him get a big fight on home soil against Bellew but can't see Hearn risking that fight, I think Ola would stop Bellew late on, too big and strong at the weight.

I would love to see him fight Bellew he would absolutely school him before knocking him out. I would feel bad watching him fight Mckenzie (if Ovil gets passed Kucher) because they are both honest hard working nice guys I would feel bad for the loser.

Bellew seems to think he deserves to get a world title fight at Goodison park for what he's done in his career, he needs to look at what Ola has done and realise no one owes him anything.

I was just going to post similar. Very good fighter, tough and highly skilled. He fights anyone with little fanfare.

He's a very solid competitor alright, that Russian he hammered a couple of months back couldn't believe his luck.

He's largely made his career sparring all sorts of guys in the gym before that breakthrough win against Macca. He's apparently sparred GGG and Wlad.

Preach that.

Have always found it strange, and slightly sad tbh, that a British promoter/TV network has never embraced Ola & helped give him a push in this country. Brave as they come, very likeable personality, big puncher, always in exciting fights - what's not to love? He should be a friggin national treasure by now.

Yeh it was a bit of a problem as sometimes he coasts rounds as if he is in sparring mode.

If he had a big promoter from the start of his career guiding him (protecting him) I have no doubt he would have won a world title by now as he has great reflexes, good movement and good power.

Kevin Mitchell had everything he needed (a big promoter/s backing him all the way, world title shots on his door step, media attention) and the media talk about him being one the best British boxer never to win a world title, its just disrespectful to a guy who fights anyone anywhere (while having a British flag proudly on his shorts) and he barely gets a mention (although I do remember Buncey had him on the boxing hour :salut: ).

I hope Ola gets a win and a few big paydays as there aren't many if any more deserving.

I've wondered if people don't realize that he's British...definitely under-appreciated domestically.

As for this fight, I don't think Ola's gotten any better (remember that he lost to Ramirez earlier last year and was clearly getting beaten by Chak until the stoppage), but is Huck the same fighter? He's been switching from one trainer to another and of course was knocked out last fight, showing cracks in his durability that he hadn't previously shown (it's not like Glowacki is a major hitter either).

Their fights were very close on the cards (I didn't score any of them to Ola but could definitely see him getting the nod in the second encounter) and even Huck's form has dropped just slightly it could be enough for Ola to finally grab a win.

I like to think he's happy where he is and doesn't court the fame/hype etc

Can't help but like him. He'd outclass Bellew with plenty to spare imo

Like chalk and cheese them two!

Think hucks wins, gets him straight back in mix as the ibo is a good little while it no not be as big as wbc, wbo.ibf its just as good as the wba with there interim, reguler, super champs
And it not as bad as wbu,wbf

Should Huck really have to get himself back in the mix?

He was a long reigning champion who lost a very competitive fight to lose his title.

Another title shot straight off his loss would have been a good defence for any champion.
