Just converting this tape. It seemed to all kick off in the crowd early on after maybe after round 3. A bloke was must have stolen the microphone or something then it went mad in the crowd, theMC was then shouting through the round. anyone remember what it was all about?

McCracken-Foster fans. Terrible combination, really.

Some better fights outside the ring than in it that night.

Remember seeing this on TV and hearing people appealing for calm. It was a dam near riot. Wasn't there a big footie game that day and the pissed up supporters of McCracken and Foster just went at it?

Was Don King there that night? I seem to remember him being interviewed after a mass-brawl in the crowd at one event, but not sure if this was the one?

Was apparently Birmingham City's Zulu hooligan firm that caused it, twice gave good hidings to smaller groups from Salford who were there to watch the boxing. Salfords main group arrive having been on the piss in the town centre and included a rum crew of football hooligans, gangsters and armed robbers and took their revenge.

I was there that night...saddest sight was seeing micheal watson been wheeled away when it all went Suzy Wong. My recollection of Don King that night was of him drawing comparisons between the evening and the film the Vikings!

A few different gangs that all combined once they realised what had been going on

I was there was dumb really went off out side inside all over the place,few bad injuries and quite a few nicking over the next few weeks

I've never understood the appeal of being a football hooligan.

Its for people that havent found their place in life. Always amazes me the amount of blokes over 40 that get nicked for it.

It's not at all. Some of the best days of my life were at football. When you're young, meeting on a Friday dinner to travel the length of the country, drinking in the minibus, out round town somewhere new, a game of football, then same again.... What's not to like? Yes, there was the odd fight and you'd get labelled as a thug but I've seen a lot worse with groups of men at the races for example. They're not horse racing hooligans.

Don't get me wrong I've travelled around watching football, England games away etc. But just never fancied getting involved in any trouble.

Although the Milwall fans that put our minibus windows through seemed less than friendly.
Teach us for doing a wrong turn, the hire company weren't to pleased either
