Since Pacquiao turned down a Crawford fight,Arum may decide to put Crawford in the ring with Juan Marquez, once the Lundy fight is over.I'm also hearing that Crawford is very interested in fighting Viktor Postol as well.

Crawford vs Marquez would be good for Crawford as far as raising his star power goes. Crawford vs Postol would give us a definitive #1 guy at 140. I say Crawford vs Marquez then follow it up with Crawford vs Postol. I like both fights.

Marquez isn't fighting Crawford.

To be honest I think its a bad match up for Bud, JMM is a great counter puncher and TC often leaves himself open when attacking and has been caught like against Gamboa, I am sure he would be more cautious against JMM but if Marques still has 1 more good fight in him I think he has a real chance.

Marquez was in England last year and was offered the fight but didn't want it, he did say Pacquiao should fight Brook.

Whate age is Marquez, 43?
He's been out the ring nearly 2 years.
Can't imagine we'll see him again tbh. Probably my all time favorite fighter. WAR MARQUEZ.

Don't matter how they do it Marquez has an expiry date so to speak, I know that sounds bad but you know what I mean.
Reason Marquez has juice in terms of sell is because he's genuinely a great fighter no one can take that away from him.

he injured his knee training for alvarado and last year said he couldn't train, so
it wasn't possible for him to sign anything. was he just visiting or what was he
there for? if marquez can train again and wants to fight again and a decent offer
comes up for brook, he would probably take that over anything else. he turns
43 in august, though, so even if his knee is healed he may just not have it
anymore. it gets much harder to get back what you had as you get older

Being an avowed JMM as well as Crawford fan, I don't like this fight. I wish for JMM to remain retired and this is a no win situation for Crawford, with the exception that it would likely be his best payday to date.
That said, I would anticipate the fight enthusiastically if it were to be made, no matter my apprehensions. I would much prefer Crawford v Postol though.

I certainly wouldn't say it's a no win situation for Crawford. A win over Marquez would be his biggest win to date as far as name recognition, and would make him a bigger star

Maybe, but more than likely he would be criticized for fighting an old man and for struggling with him.
But, you are correct, saying that it is a no win situation for Crawford is inaccurate.

What if he didn't struggle with him though? What if he shut him out as decisively as Floyd did?

He will have "shutdown an old man who had been retired and came back to cash in once more."

There's always gonna be critics who will take credit away from a victory no matter who you beat. The money and the recognition he'd gain from beating Marquez far outweighs the criticism.

Money, yes. Recognition, not so much if JMM is completely past it.

He wasn't completely past it the last time he fought. Hopkins wasn't completely past it the last time he fought before Kovalev either. Revisionist history might say he was, but coming into that fight there were quite a few people picking Hopkins to outbox Kovalev.

JMM is a great fighter but he will have to prove that he still has it, as BHop has time after time after time.
I would still rather see Postol and Crawford settle it Quigg and Frampton style.

Not the best example, Floyd gets virtually no credit for that masterpiece.

Yeah, but Floyd gets virtually no credit for his entire career for that matter. By a lot of people.
