Billy Hardy

Never saw Winstone but Naz was a hero of mine as a boy. I doubt Winstone would've ever came up against anything like Naz in his time lol. When he was with Ingle and focussed he was awesome.

I think of what medina managed to do against Naz- cold or no cold- and I have to imagine winstone winning on points.

watched a few Winstone fights as a result of the 52 week challenge and fully appreciate his boxing ability. I'd arguably rank him higher than Naz although not much in it.
But in a head to head I think Hameds style would cause him all sorts of trouble. I think against a fellow boxer it'd be a tactical affair and he showed against an aggressive and technically brilliant fighter in Saldivar he can fend off the advances of that style of fighter until, of course, he tired.
But he'll never have fought a style like Naseem and for me wouldn't be able to put it on him in such a way as to make him favourite in this one. For me a 70/30 fight in favour of Naz
I'd be intrigued to see if even Hamed's power would trouble him though, One of the best punchers in the weight aganist a fantastic beard.

Yeah seemed a sound chap, he wouldnt have done better even in his prime though, hamed just to big a puncher for him.

Hamed beats Winstone.

In my view, Hamed proved himself as a World-class operator, and every time Winstone fought at World-Class level he lost. I've heard people excuse his loss to Jose Legra by saying he was "past it" and "an old man" when they fought - but in actuality he was only 29 years of age.

I do give Winstone the credit he deserves though, if the great Vicente Saldivar couldn't put him away 2 out of 3 times over 15 rounders, then my best guess would be that he'd be able to survive a 12 rounder with Prince Naz, though he would be conclusively beaten.

As someone has already said, Prince Naz vs Barry McGuigan - now THAT would be a fight!!!

i watched some of naz on you tube last night and it's easy to forget just how talented he was his reflexes were amazing and he could ko you from any angle going backwards or forwards and with either hand .

In fairness, a lot of boxers avoided Azumah Nelson. Eusebio Pedroza and Steve Cruz never faced him and even the likes of Carlos Zarate & Lupe Pintor would not move up a weight class to challenge him.

I would also add that what he did to Pat Cowdell was scary, that uppercut!!!

In that case i see your point and fully agree ive changed my mind. Naz wouldnt have had the power to beat Bazza. Naz getting knocked out sometime after round 6.
