Coward BJS fights Bursak

What a disgrace of a "MW champion of the world". Decline $3+ million to fight Golovkin in favor of fighting a guy who boxrec #49 and is 3-3 in his last 6 fights:

3mill is a massive sum to turn down and the bursak fight is not a good a fight as the n'dam fight would of been.

Looking at Bursak's record he looks like a guy who has trouble making 160. 3 of his last 4 fights were 8 rounders an the lowest he weighed in was 167.25 lb.
This was the belt vacated by Quillin in order to duck Korobov and prevent the Haymon fighter, fighting under JayZ's promotion. Now it'sbeen won by Billy Joe Saunders in what can only be described as the worst Middleweight title fight i've ever had the pleasure of witnessing vs Lee, and now it's desecrated further with this dung.

I thought he didn't fight Golovkin because he could make more money for a Eubank rematch. So why hasn't that rematch materialized?

I like Billy Joe but this is a piss poor title defence.
"Champions" facing crap like Bursak and the upcoming Broner defence vs Theophane shouldn't be allowed. They should be stripped as soon as they even start to propose such a farce of a fight.

He should have taken the money for the Golovkin fight.
Bursak is a terrible world title challenger.
Martin Murray pretty much won every round against Bursak less than two years ago.

Bursak is #11 WBO. The top of WBO MW rankings:
1. Magomedov
2. Centreno Jr
...
7. Murata
8. Johnson
...
13. N'Dam
Any of these 5 would be better.

Because Eubank is messing them around and for some reason would rather fight for the British title than the world title. Not been ruled out yet but it looks unlikely right now. Saunders was always going to have a defence around this time before that anyway, the Eubank fight, if it happens, won't be until at least July.

Eubank's getting paid very good money for that British title fight.
Nothing wrong with him taking that fight.

A champion in BJS weight challenged him, for a career high payday. His actions say all we need to know. He doesn't want to take the beating.

He's getting £104k, not exactly a massive payday.

For a British title fight it is.
Eubank Jr is still inexperienced and this is a good fight for him.
Saunders shouldn't be waiting around for a Eubank Jr rematch. He should be fighting against other interesting opponents, not dross like Bursak.

I think Saunders was saying that Eubank needs to go beat Jacobs first in order to "deserve" a fight with a champion like him. BJS knows that current more experienced and less theatrical Eubank would beat him if they had a rematch.

BJS is Probably waiting 18 months to 2 years, then get paid £6 million and be in a chance of beating GGG when GGG is slipping?

Eubank has been offered the fight several times and has continually turned it down. He's had the opportunity to fight Saunders and Jacobs and has knocked both back to go and fight Nick Blackwell for the British title. I think that says everything about him.

Bursak stinks.
Does BJS not like money or something? Who is advising these morons? Isn't this his profession? You are a prize fighter. You fight for a prize. He will have to fight at least 15 times to make what he can make in one night.

Source ? That is not what I read. From sources I read, after his close win, Saunders started sounding very cocky saying that Eubank doesn't deserve a rematch.

Billie Joe is not a genuine world champion. I mean imagine him being mentioned as the successor to La Motta, Ray Robinson, Marvin Hagler, Carlos Monzon..... Simply ridiculous

We know what he hopes to do but lets not defend this pish.
Do we think BJS can hold a title for 2 years?
Do we think BJS stands a chance against GGG 2 years from now?
Do you think he'll ever get the chance at more money than he was offered ?
I'm answering a resounding no to all three of these questions.
I'm a British fight fan and can't bring myself to defend some of the match making of some of our fighter just now.
I can't do that and critisise Wildwr or Ward for the same shit

All WBO MW champions after Martinez and Pirog (who didn't have an opportunity to prove himself) were pathetic:
N'Dam
Quillin
Lee
Saunders
Even though in some weight classes, WBO has deserving champions, it would be good for the sport to not consider WBO titles as real ones.

Expe seems to think he would make around $3m for a Eubank rematch...not sure if that's on the mark though.

allegedly has been asked about it and talked about the fight repeatedly. Eubank was offered the fight again last Wednesday, as he did his interview with IFL his son George was going to a meeting with Eubank's lawyers to give them the contract to sign. He could have had it last June and turned it down because he wouldn't give up his WBA interim title, then dropped it anyway a few months later. Been offered for this summer several times since Saunders beat Lee and turned down everytime again. Their latest demand is that they want 1,000 free ringside tickets for the fight. If Eubank and his Dad wanted the fight it was there waiting for them.

That he's inexperienced and in no rush for a world title shot?
How awful!

Seriously ? Offering a fight to somebody who already has a fight scheduled in 3 weeks ?
Here is a quote from BJS when Eubank was available:
http://www.skysports.com/boxing/news/12 ... redentials
Saunders said: "Eubank is fighting people I beat two years ago. Let him go down the WBA route. Let him go and fight Daniel Jacobs. Don't get mandatory for a world title, thinking you're world level and then go back to fight for the British.
...
"I'd rather give Nick Blackwell a shot. Eubank Jr said he was going for the WBA route so let him go fight Gennady Golovkin. So if he beats him, then we'll have a big unification fight - that's good, isn't it?
