Ortiz will bust him up and stop him around the halfway point IMO.

Pretty shitty fight but not Ortiz's fault. I think he'll handle him fairly easily like Crusader said.

Three legit pro fights in around six months is impressive for anybody these days. And the dude is 36. At this rate there won't be anyone but the top level guys left in about 15 months

The dude just ktfo Jennings 3 months ago ffs. He is basically fighting a young pros type schedule. I'm impressed. But, yes, I want to see him in with more of a challenge by years end

Ustinov sucks, but it isn't Ortiz' fault. Those belts still provide leverage, without one he'd never get a fight with the likes of Ustinov.

Ortiz following the WBA path to a Unified WBA World Champion in other word ONE WBA Champ instead of the crazy 3 we have at present.

If that all follows through then hes on a collision course with Fury/Klit winner.

I hope if he wins then he gets to fight the Super Champ of the division. Probably Fury. Right now his career is sideways.

After the Byron Polley fight, there was a 4 month gap until his next fight, then a 2 month gap until the next one, then a 3 month gap until the next one, and now another 2-3 month gap before the next one. Fighting Jennings + Thompson + Ustinov all in a 5-6 month period. That's pretty much beyond criticism. If he was fighting once every 9-12 months, then I would hope for better opposition than Ustinov. But I'm fine with him fighting 3 Ustinovs in a year as long as the fourth fight is someone in the top 10.

He's still boxing. He fought in October and December. I'd speculate that he's trying to get his confidence back up after Wlad broke his foot off in Pulev's ass.

Good fight for Ortiz, and I expect him to win by wide UD or TKO mid-late.

BTW, isn't Ustinov the guy that the current undisputed HW champion ducked....after the weigh in, thinking he was being "jobbed".? Yes, you guessed right, the great Tyson Fury ducked Ustinov. Oh wait.....I forgot.....Fury's uncle was sick.

Just some balance:
I don't think Ustinov is as bad as some make him out to be.
He has still only lost to Pulev, who is one of the top 5 heavyweights. It's his only loss in 34 fights.

Yes I know his record isn't a who's-who of the heavyweight division, but his quality of opponents isn't that much worse, and in some cases no worse at all, than a lot of the top 10 heavyweights.
Yes I know he can be slow, but he is very large and does have certain strengths.
He has also fought 4 times in 15 months, so is currently very busy.

I personally think Ortiz will win, but again, Ustinov is not exactly a tomato can. There are quite a few heavyweights that boxrec have rated higher than Ustinov who I think Ustinov would beat quite readily.
