He will, it's very sad that he didn't do it about a year ago, but ok, I can understand he's scared and has a lot less to fear now since Povetkin is older and he's more experienced himself.
But he got no choice left, it's now or never and most refs in Russia are against the Russians, the Russians have allways accepted that, so there's absolutely no reason for Wilder to fear to go to Russia.

I don't think Wilder can afford not go. He would never live down the incident. Ali traveled around the world and fought in peoples backyards. If you are a champion then there is no excuse to not defend your title regardless of the location of the venue.

Heard a whisper that his team weren't keen of him going to Russia but he was adamant he was fighting there.

I was convinced even more when I heard him say that he become a world champion to make his daughter proud, and he'd defend the title anywhere in the world as he wouldn't want to let his daughter down or see him not be s champion.

Despite his obvious flaws technically, mentally he's a very sound fighter. I reckon the bronze bomber also has a big bronze set of balls. There's no coward in him and if he does lose I see him going out on his shield.

i agree. the bottom line is if your a fighting man you should not be bothered by the ifs and the buts and the whys and the wheres. just the opponent and the job at hand, which is fighting the opponent

Sounds reasonable. Maybe he can stay in Poland, there must be some decent training facilities there. Then move in Russia couple of days before the fight, bringing his own food and drinks with him. And make sure those are well guarded at all times.

Sad for him to loose because Povetkin juicing but its much worse to see him loose because they sprinkled something in his soup.

*facepalm*, Povetkin doesn't juice... Has Wilder actually ever been tested in his previous fights? All I remember was Szpilka wondering why he hasn't been tested yet, because it was kinda odd around that point with Wilder involved.
