bob arum is working towards getting this bout made for july the 23rd. provo's team are interested in the fight but they don't want it to take place in the hometown of crawford.

i think its a good fight, i think provo will be game as a badger for 12rounds and pour it on but crawford will beat him by UD.

provo's feeling like a bit of a "stepping stone" fighter though i bet.

Not my preference of an opponent for either boxer. There is no excuse for not making Postol v Crawford. Both fighters want it. Both, no matter who wins and loses, would benefit from it.

Provo should fight someone like Guerrero or Broner.

i agree there mate, i do like provo, but i don't believe he deserves the ranking he has with the wbo at the minute and look at how hes been as of late. i'm hoping he'll show us something here and give crawford some questions to answer like he can if he wants to but i agree that really it should be postol in there with crawford.

guerrero-provo is a good bout guerrero comes to fight and likes to get stuck in and provo isn't a fancy dan himself as we know so the two shape up well i believe.

Pretty good fight but I can't help but be let down that it's not Crawford/Postol. There should be no obstacles to making that fight. I'm sick of getting #1 vs. a fringe contender when #2 is available. It's this kind of thing that makes me defend the UFC hegemony over MMA when people criticize their business practices.

yup there is no legitimate reason why crawford-postol cannot be made is there.

and i see what you're saying regarding the ufc and mma, the best fight the best, no messing around no avoiding and i really respect that and wish we saw more of that go on in boxing.

I like prov, but it's hard for me to envision him winning a round against crawford, unless he scores a knockdown.
I certainly don't see him getting a KO, which is what he would need to win.

I think Ruslan is a fan favourite, his style is very entertaining to watch and you can never rule him out of any fight. I think this can match up to be a good fight, if Ruslan just does what he does best that will draw a good fight I believe. Crawford is very highly skilled in my opinion and the UD decision in favour of Crawford is the obvious favourite but if this fight is made I would definitely stick some money on a Ruslan KO.

Love Provo but would hate to see him in this fight.
His skill set has really deteriorated the last few fights. He walks in completely straight lines with no head movement.
Crawford would use him as a punchbag and he'd either get a merciful stoppage or they'd let him get a 12 round pasting.
Please match Provo in a fight with a fighter with a similar style as his. In a weird way a war is probably the safest fight for him.

Provo's chances are not good here if he fights the same way he did with Matthysse. He is a former champion who keeps fighting top opposition, so he needs to finally learn a lesson and pay sufficient attention to defense or retire.

Target practice for Crawford, he may be the first to stop Ruslan.

Crawford has been hurt by Gamboa. Provodnikov wasn't even hurt by Matthysse, so there's no way, Crawford will stop him. The russian will apply pressure for 12 rounds & break Crawford down, similar to Alvarado. Ruslan TKO10.

I agree. Postol and Crawford not getting made is all about the politics of boxing.

A stepping stone?? Are you nuts? There is not way provo is feeling that way. Crawford is the best in the world at 140!!

I agree I see this as a TKO with the fight being stopped due to Provo's eyes being closed shut. He has lost some really close, bad decisions. I do not think he will fight for a whole lot longer.

i wasn't on about crawford-postol i was on about provo-molina in the first place... and i said arum "should" make crawford-postol, not that it was in the pipeline or anything as we all know arum is reluctant to make that fight as you said...

I'd definitely watch a Crawford v Provodnikov fight, but chances are Provodnikov would only have a chance of winning by a KO rather than amassing enough points to win by a decision.
Postol much more of a technician and would likely provide a sterner test over the long run ,I'd love to see Crawford v Postol.

Provo vs Broner would be awesome! Love that match-up.
