9th April 2016 - Battle of the PPV's

9th April 2016 might be a first for UK television. On the 9th April there will be 2 PPV events on UKTV. In the red corner it's Anthony Joshua Vs. Charles Martin on SKY Box Office for £16.95. In the blue corner it's Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley on Premier Sports which is £9.99 for SKY customers with no signing up fee. Please note your not getting Premier Sports for a month for your money, just the fight on its own.
If push comes to shove and you considered purchasing an event that night, which one would you go for?

Joshua v Martin will take in more viewers simply based on UK viewing time and excessive advertisement of the event.
For me..... The internet is a wonderful tool.

Pac/Bradley isn't strictly ppv is it, its just that its on a subscription channel most of us haven't got

I'll not be buying either of them, although I'd be more tempted by the Joshua fight. I doubt Pacquiao vs Bradley will attract more than a handful of buys in the UK.

Probably end up watching Joshua, just because it's more of a mainstream channel. No other real reason. (Can I get Premier Sports on Virgin, by the way?)
Dunno if I'll pay for it, or what. A few pubs might be showing it, so I might combine it with a few pints.

Probably watch both by "other means".

Assume the pubs will be all over Joshua Vs Martin...

I was thinking that.
Though, where I'm from, four pints would be about the same price as the PPV.

Some will, I believe it costs them several hundred pounds to show a ppv fight.

I thought the question was who will get the most buys so I voted Joshua. I wont be buying either. Unless its a fight im really interested in or a genuine PPV worthy fiht, I wont buy any PPV's.

It would be intriguing to know how many buys they need to break even.

Yeah and it seems easier/cheaper than if on Sky £10 per month rolling (so can cancel after 1 month) and no sign up fee. I'll probably end up getting it for that to be fair.

I will buy Joshua.
Can't see premier sports competing with BN in the long run so I will probably avoid them

You can watch the Pacman fight on the Premier Sports website for £9.99 if your taking your smartphone or tablet. Not sure if the site will be geoblocked in Mexico. Could be a tenner wasted

Here you go mate:
http://www.premiersports.com/pacquiao-v-bradley/live/
P.S. It looks like £9.99 might be a special price for SKY customers to get the channel for a whole month, not just for the fight. Either I've read it wrong first time round or they've changed some of the wording. I'm not sure what they're doing now

I'll purchase the AJ PPV. I'm not committing to Premier sports right away until I see what else they are going to do. I can't see Pacquiao v Bradley being anything other than dim. I never enjoyed their first two efforts.

I had a feeling I'd channel surfed through it at some point.
