So, I'm thinking of writing a book.

I've been involved one way or another with boxing since I was born. My maternal great grandfather owned a booth that did pretty well back in the 20's and 30's.I can't go any furhter back than that because there are fathers that weren't fathers and aunts that were mums and all that caper.

I haven't been licensed myself for a couple of years and whilst I still go to my local gym I've lost touch with a lot of the guys that were active from 2007 to 2013/14. (Not that they were ever mates or anything you understand, but you saw the same guys up and down the country week in week out sometimes)

I'm talking about your Duncan Cottier's, Dougie Curran's,Bobby Woods, Rick Boulter's and Paul Morby's. I know that Jason Nesbitt, Dan Carr and Kristian Laight are still going strong. I know that Jody Meikle is doing MBC stuff and Rob Deakin is doing his thing as and when he can.

I'm also interested in the lads that looked promising, sold tickets and then for whatever reason just seemed to disappear. Like Bristol's Dan Stewart, Bath's Mike Rose, the Welsh lad who was a top prospect, Lewis Rees.Then you get up to London and there are shed fulls. There's loads of them around.

We've all got stories and I'm genuinely interested in them and think others would be as well.

Anyone that has any info or contact details, please inbox me.

Also, does anyone know what happened to Mark Potter on social media? He was my friend on facebook for ages and then just disappeared? Did he have enough of me? Social Media ? Hope he is OK.

Good luck to you. Although thought I should mention that Jason Nesbitt and Kristian Laight are featured at length already in Mark Turley's Journeymen book. Is a real labour of love doing a book (took me 7 years), but well worth it if it comes out well.

7 years? Wow. I have a friend who recently wrote a boxing book and got published. One question - whilst it must be very satisfying to get published, surely there is little actual money to be gained from a boxing booK? Even a great one... Boxing is surely a bit niche to make good money out of....

What is the title of your book? I'll check it out

It was "The Gifted One: Kirkland Laing through the eyes of others".

And it's very rare and goes for silly money. I liked it, but be prepared for a long read, it's very, very thorough. A friend who liked Laing borrowed it but never got anywhere near the end.
