Fights where the audiance laughed.

Has anyone been to a live bill and one of the fights on the card was so bad that the audiance were actually laughing?

I remember one back in the late 80's where Steve Black fought Mike Hallett,in a heavyweight clash up in Newcastle. The fight was something out of a Charlie Chaplin movie. It was so bad that the audiance was laughing. Its the only fight i can think of where the action was so poor, that there was no booing but laughter.

"Rufus homicide henry gypsy bobbins defibaugh" vs J'Leon Love.

As he comes out of his corner with what appears to be two left feet...

I seem to remember a little laughter when this guy named Bryan something fought Kenny Rainford on Tuesday Night Fights. He had a mullet. Claimed to be an unbeaten street fighter, and was about as uncoordinated as a guy could be. Rainford beat him easily with a basic skill set

On a trip once to Las Vegas I attended a fight card at Ballys - One of the fights featured Heavyweight contender Ray Austin. He was fighting a guy called Gilbert Martinez. Well to say Martinez was a bit overweight would be a kind understatement! The crowd were a little mean toward him and one shouted out 'throw a pork chop at him'. Which made the audience roar in laughter....

Pep vs Saddler. There was tripping and just about every dirty trick in the book. Once, they wrestled each other to the ground pulling the referee down with them.

Yeah I saw that one not too long ago. The dude's fake muscles and the reaction of the crowd are classic. If I recall even the commentary team says "Jorge Kihwagi is a fraud"

Something I've never heard before from a commentary crew.

My favorite line was 'he throws punches in slow-motion'. The commentators told it like it was, and it was pretty damn funny :OhYes:

I'll never forget seeing Larry Olubamiwo's first fight at York Hall against a journeyman called Vlado Szabo. Everyone laughed when Larry walked to the ring and it was followed with a 'Fvcking Hell', due to his sheer size. There was real energy around the place at that point and everyone looked at poor Szabo and thought you're fvucked.

Kahwagi's upper body is grotesque. So I am guessing that was a fixed fight, correct?

Of course. Any legit opponent Pro or Amateur could beat that walking Plastic Surgeon's house payment.

I've got to go for Johnny Nelson v Carlos Deleon. They should've given Nelson the Nobel Peace prize.

Greg Page vs Mark Wills 2.

The commentators were laughing and it features my favourite ever line by a boxing commentator after Page had punched himself...... "We talked about the fact that Page doesn't throw a hard punch and it's a good thing, because that one landed on his own jaw,"

10:15 onwards for laughing, jokes and one of the best overhand rights ever.
