Interested to hear American opinion on whether or not Brook is seen as a genuine threat yo the big boys at 147 if and when he finally gets the opportunity to prove himself. Personally I think he has all the tools required and I would fancy him to beat anyone in the division. Thoughts?

Agreed
Kell is very good
Easy win Saturday night then needs a big fight

I agree that on his game his is a genuine threat to anyone at 147 and 154 for that matter but I don't know if he lacks that mental edge? I was actually pretty disappointed in parts at his performance against Porter even though he won the fight. I thought he let some rounds slip away and pass him by. He has without a doubt got all the tools required to be top dog but he needs the big fights. He needs a big name after Bizier and he has to be adamant and demand it and I don't know if he's done that yet? His record to date would suggest not.
He's one of my favourite fighters and I've followed him before he won the British title but it's time to step it up.

Yea I would agree that he doesn't seem to have been adamant with regards to better opposition. If a big fight isn't made for the summer I think he needs to part company with eddie hearn. Maybe do what De Gale has done and keep matchroom promotion in uk but get Al Haymon to manage and invest in him stateside.
Needs to let go of the Khan obsession I think. For time being at least.

Team Brook has taken the easy road to many times he will sick when put in deep water.

He needs to take a big fight again. He should be looking to unify. I cannot see him staying at 147 for too long. He is a really big 147.

He's a threat to beat anyone but he has fought just Porter and it was a close decision that I agreed with. If Porter v Sometimes ever happens it will give us some perspective.
I agree that Brook will be moving up in weight soon.

MD against Porter then fought two very poor opponents and is fighting another donut next.
Needs to fight a top 5 fighter to prove himself

Two awful IBF mandatories but the next one will likely be Spence Jr.
Going to be impossible for Brook to avoid a big fight in the next 12 months if he stays injury free.

He's very good but wasting his time fighting shit like Gavin, Donut Dan and Bizier. Hope his next fight is against someone actually decent. Granted, it's a mando but still...

I just read he is serious about fighting GGG. Would love to see it, and it would show win or lose that he wants to fight the best. I think it is much more of a brave move than what Khan is doing, given the weight and skill involved with GGG vs Canelo. For Khan he can't lose, because no one expects him to win, or few do. If Khan lost to one of the several welters that could and would beat him, his career would be pretty much over.

How is brook fighting GGG "braver"...? No one thinks brook would beat him either what's the difference?
Brook can more easily bounce back from his first loss than Khan can in his fourth

Did they ever find who chopped his leg up?
Brook needs a big fight against a big name, sooner rather than later.

160 vs 155, taller and more skilled, bigger punching opponent. Even Canelo doesn't have the boys to fight GGG there.

Brook is a promising WW who needs bigger named opponents to let his star shine, I've always wanted to see him vs Khan but Amir appeared afraid to go anywhere near him. I've always felt as though he should face Broner, I think it would be a good fight before he puts AB to sleep.

Brook is a good fighter. I would give him a legitimate chance at beating anyone at welter though I wouldn't go so far to outright pick him against the likes of Bradley, Thurman or Pacquiao. And I haven't seen enough of Errol Spence to make a judgement on how that would go.
I had the fight with Porter a draw and though it was a while ago now, it's worth remembering that Carson Jones caused Brook some major problems in their first fight.

After the fight Brook said he wants the big fights. He said he had to fight his mandatory or be stripped. He wants to fight Danny Garcia or the winner of Bradley/Pac. He said he didn't understand the IBF making bizier his mandatory.
Did anyone see the Lawson/Bizier fight for the IBF eliminator.
If Lawson won that fight would he of put up a better fight against Brook?

You could see by Bizier's facial expression that he knew he was about to get beat up. The IBF have to have a long hard look at their rankings. Never should a mandatory not be ranked in the top 15 by the other big three. It was ab absolute disgrace. I hope Kell can pick up a decent fight next, he really needs to be targeting the winner of Thurman Vs Porter imo.

this sounds right to me. If Brook stepped up like Tim Bradley and SOUGHT the biggest challenges rather than just talk about them, there'd be no doubt. Kell has one of the most noticeable padded records in boxing, one top win that even one of the judges couldn't give to him. He is pretty damn good but who wouldn't look great against sub par competition. It's beyond disappointing to see a talent get wasted like that for so long.. Even in the Porter fight (who was never the best welterweight either) Shawn was stealing rounds just by wanting it more. That kind of stuff creates doubt, doubt we wouldn't have had we seen Kell in the ring with some name fighters by now. As it is he's starting to make Joe Calzaghe look like Hank Armstrong in the resume department.

Brook looks excellent and I think either he or Thurman will be the new WW king after Pac retires.
That said he really needs to get a big fight next because I have very little interest in watching him fight guys like Bizier. Hopefully he will fight Bradley or Khan after they inevitably lose their respective upcoming PPV fights.

I'm curious why he didn't fight Bradley the first chance he had. Is anyone familiar with why that broke down?

Brook looks very good (size, power, speed, skill....his accuracy is particularly impressive) and I wouldn't be surprised if he were the best at 147. That's partially what makes his recent opposition so frustrating.

When was he offered the Bradley fight? How many chances did he have?

Sounds like August and November of last year. And I recall even well before that it was talked about seriously. You don't need two guesses to figure which guy/side was reluctant. Bradley would sign to fight King Kong.
