Canelo v GGG
Kovalev v Ward

1. What is the bigger fight? I.e. What would get more PPV buys?

2. What fight would be more entertaining?

3. What fight would be more competitive?

4. What fight is most likely to be made?

1. Canelo/GGG by a mile- over a million buys.

2. 50/50- Canelo/GGG is less competitive with more fireworks, the other could have high drama.

3.Kovalev/Ward

4. I think they both happen at some point, though I wouldn't be surprised if both are next year.

I think so too, what one do you think would happen first? (Let's say Canelo beats Khan)

Gun to my head i would say that Kovalev/Ward happens first.

1. Canelo-GGG will get more PPV buys. (Kovalev - Ward will be big too, but nowhere near Canelo GGG)
2. IMO Canelo - GGG will be a war. If Ward dont wanna be KO´ed in early rounds he will turn fight into ugly clinchfest as he usualy do
3. Both fights are 50:50 pick imo, i dont understand why people here posting about Canelos zero chances against GGG
4. Kovalev - Ward is more likely to happen this year, Canelo - GGG in 2017 imo

Sport of boxing need both fights :box:

Money aside, Kova vs Ward is way more intriguing. GGG vs Canelo will be more watchable but the outcome at 160 is pretty much clear -- Canelo's first KO loss.

I think that Canelo vs Golovin could well be commercially THE biggest fight out there in any weight division.

The GGG hype train has reached idiotic levels.

Who the fuuck has GGG beaten that is considered an elite A level fighter?

Answer No fuccking one.

Canelo at only 25 has already faced and beaten

Trout
Floyd(who hasn't lost to Floyd)
Lara
Cotto

GGG's resume is utter garbage compared to a 25 yr old Canelo's.

GGG fanboys please calm down with this obsessive BS.

You are a f4cking idiot. How is being schooled by Floyd a plus ??? How is arguably losing to Trout and Lara a plus ?

Do you think Golovkin would lose to Cotto, Trout or Lara ?

Canelo "arguably" lost to Trout man gtfo with that BS.

You must be the most biased or dumbest fuucking boxing fan around if you think Canelo lost to trout.

I cant take idiots like you serious if you really think it arguable that trout beat Canelo.

And yes Lara would school GGG thats why his ppl want nothing to do with him.

And as for Trout and Cotto its verydifficult ti say cuz GGG has faced nothing but C level comp just like in his upcoming fight.

Run along fuucking dumb ass.

"Golovkin is above Canelo. He is the king of the middleweight division, he is much more solid [than Canelo]. But the thing with Golovkin is that he takes a lot of punches and at some point he is going to start breaking, but presently he is the strongest of them all [at 160]," Martinez told Albert Perez.
Just another one on the hype train ...

1. What is the bigger fight? I.e. What would get more PPV buys?

Canelo-GGG. Canelo is the biggest draw out of all 4 and GGG is probably more popular than Kovalev and Ward as well.

2. What fight would be more entertaining?

Canelo-GGG. Guaranteed action fight. Ward/Kovalev maybe even more skilled but action would not be guaranteed.

3. What fight would be more competitive?

Ward-Kovalev. I see Canelo-GGG as a 70/30 in Golovkin's favour. Ward-Kovalev is a pure 50/50, 55/45 at most.

4. What fight is most likely to be made?

I think they'll both happen eventually. Ward-Kovalev looks most likely for 2016. I think Canelo-GGG is still 12 months away.

Canelo v GGG
Kovalev v Ward

1. What is the bigger fight? I.e. What would get more PPV buys?

Bigger as in more meaningful to boxing - Kovalev vs Ward
PPV buys - Canelo vs GGG, as Canelo is the only PPV star of the four

2. What fight would be more entertaining?

From an action standpoint - Canelo vs GGG
From a technical standpoint - Kovalev vs Ward

3. What fight would be more competitive?

If Canelo makes GGG fight at 155lb, I see their fight as being very competitive, with GGG drained.
If they fight at 160lb - which I don't see happening - I see GGG winning comfortably, making Kovalev vs Ward the more competitive fight

4. What fight is most likely to be made?

Kovalev Ward, by a whisker

No question that the much younger Canelo has the better resume, and no GGG hasn't beaten an A level fighter. That said, the eye test has to count for something, and my eyes tell me that GGG would beat Canelo fairly comfortably at 160lb. At Canelo's 155lb catchweight, things get more interesting, but as it's for a middleweight title, Canelo shouldn't have that option.

It could absolutely be argued that Canelo lost to Trout. I had Canelo winning that fight by a single point - six rounds each, with the KD making the difference in the end. In that fight Trout threw 338 more punches than Canelo and landed 30 more, landing one less power punch and 31 more jabs. Yes, Canelo landed the harder punches, but he threw less than 40 punches per round and often looked to be getting outworked. Whatever way you look at it, it was a close fight that could have gone either way.

You've got to be blind not to realise that Canelo has been getting gifts from judges pretty regularly. While I think he deserved to beat Trout, the 118-109 scorecard was a joke and the 116-111 generous to say the least. The 117-111 scorecard in the Lara fight was a gift in another fight that could have gone either way. The 114-114 scorecard in the Mayweather fight was another joke. He won the Cotto fight fairly, but the scorecards were all too wide.

The 3 scorecards you mentioned in those 3 fights are mind boggling. So bad in fact that the judges that gave those scores should be banned for life as a boxing judge. Either they were paid off or totally incompetent. For that reason, which seems like the norm in his close fights, is why Khan doesn't have much chance to beat Canelo. The open scoring in San Antonio with Canelo's huge fan base there also played a part in his close win.

As far as GGG vs Canelo and Ward vs Kovalev, both are great action fights, but you have to give a big PPV edge to GGG vs Canelo. I don't, however, think this fight will happen for about 2 more years. Ward vs Kov will happen in Nov. or early next year.

I'd say Kovalev-Ward is BIGGER!

Canelo lost badly to Mayweather notwithstanding the female judge who had a crush on him.

Kovalev-Ward is a higher weight class. And both are undefeated. Canelo also has 1 or 2 gift decisions.

Obviously Ward vs Kova because they've both fought far better fighters than Triple G, Canelo has a better resume than all of them but he's only one half of that equation. When you line up who Kova and Ward fought they both eclipse Golovkin, so that makes their bout the bigger fight.

1. What is the bigger fight? I.e. What would get more PPV buys?
Canelo v GGG, by some distance.

2. What fight would be more entertaining?
Canelo v GGG is bound to have more action.

3. What fight would be more competitive?
Kovalev v Ward. I find it far harder to pick winner between them. GGG is a clear favorite against Canelo IMO.

4. What fight is most likely to be made?
Kovalev v Ward. It is already contracted, barring a defeat it will happen.

Just bumping the thread because I remember this post about the judging of Canelo's fights. Tonight a pair of judges gave Khan only 1 round while all 3 had him losing; Canelo continues to have the judges on his side to a laughable extent and GGG better be sure to do a number on him if they fight.

1. GGG vs Canelo will sell at least 10x what Kovalev vs Ward sells.

2. GGG vs Canelo, Ward's never been in an exciting fight, and he'll do what he can to make that the case with Kovalev too because an exciting fight is bad news for him.

3. Kovalev vs Ward for sure

4. Kovalev vs Ward is already made...so....

canelo-ggg would be the bigger fight, get more ppv

definitly can-ggg, since in the other fight ward is involved

tough one. i think kovalev-ward

canelo-ggg, since there is to much demand for that, thats the #1 fight to be made
