The never ending story, this is taking far too long to get organised. Fury sure does seem to spend a long time between fights.

Thanks mostly to David Haye, he didn't get his title shot for 2 years & now he's finally the champ, he can't he organise a timely rematch with the guy he won the title from.

I'm beginning to feel a bit sorry for him.

I get the impression that this is the Klitschko's messing Fury about, not allowing him to get any momentum and frustrate him. Surely, there must come a point where he just moves on. He has got all the belts and the win. Klitschko needs him more than the other way round.

Definitely something very odd going on here. There have been references to Fury's chronic back pain. Seems like neither guy fancies it that much. I wonder if there is something in the contract to say that the rematch must happen within a certain timeframe, and whether Fury can get out of that with a sicknote. If that sort of thing happens and gets drawn out too long it's probably likely Wlad would retire rather than face somebody else.

That's a ridiculously huge lay-off, really he should try to squeeze in a stay busy defence vs some bum like Glazkov if possible. Just to give him the motivation to keep in shape and such.

I doubt it. In fact, even though Fury is now champ, I think the fight was probably bigger first time round than it is now. Previously it carried hype and everybody wanted to see what Fury could do. Now we've seen it - the fight was dull, and most would expect a similar type of fight and similar outcome. If he wins again it's no big deal, just a repeat of what happened before. Doesn't really sound like the sort of fight that would create a huge level of demand. Maybe if Matchroom were involved, but not sure Hennessy can pull off selling out an event to that size of crowd.

No, i don't think it would now.

First time round, i would have paid to go and watch Wlad if it was in this country. Immediately afterwards (well if the fight was about to happen now) i think it would have as the build up would never have stopped. Now, however, i think the general public have forgotten about him and are about to have a more high profile heavyweight champ

According to the new item, the fight was partially delayed by an Injury Fury sustained.

They are probably also struggling to find venues in the summer.

I thought because there was a rematch clause in place things would've went smooth(ish). If it's an injury to either it obviously can't be helped but Wlad is notoriously difficult to deal with. Wouldn't surprise me if the hold up was down to petty demands/squabbling.

Fury should have given back all the (four I think?) belts after the Wlad fight, and just done his own thing, until someone beats him in the ring (for better or worse) he is Heavyweight Champion of the World.

Seems Fury could've maybe fitted in the Glazkov defence kept the IBF and made more money in the long run

He could have thrown the IBF/WBO/WBA belts in the bin publicly and kept the Ring belt, which does not require sanctioning fees or mandatory defenses. Would have been a good protest against the alphabet bodies who have become so greedy that even one champion per division is not enough. Having beaten Klitschko he still would have been considered the real champ regardless of whether he kept the belts or not.
