How do you see Kell Brook performing against the other Welterweight title holders and how does his credentials stack up?

i dont know the title holders, because i dont care for 4 titles, for me there is 1 champion, who i consider the best in the division.

spence is the champion, he is the best ww in the world right now.

brook uds midget timmy, he also beats khan and danny. thurman would be a ver tough fight, i think thurman tkos brook late. spence beats them all, too athletic, too powerful, too technicly sound for all them guys.

There's only one champion and that's a guy that isn't a champion, has never fought a champion or fought at championship level and is as yet unproven against top level operators?

He may prove to be the best, he may have all the best attributes. But I'll believe it when I see those attributes displayed against the best.

To be the best you need to beat the best.

To expand on my Errol Spence rant. Brook has yet to beat a top guy.
He looks good, he has skills, he has power.

But for me Porter is outside the top 5 welters and is by an absolute country mile Brooks best win (a win he achieved by the narrowest margins)

I'm a brit and a Brook fan but he has a lot to prove and really needs to step up.

I give him a good chance against the top guys but if he were to fight every one of the top 5 I'd be astounded if he came out undefeated, put it that way.

Funnily enough, I'd really like to see him in with Spence. Would be a really good measure of where both guys are at and a nice stylistic match up IMO

I disagree he beat Porter, Porter had the title and Porter is a legit guy. If Porter does not count as legit at 147 then who does? That is a silly comment by you.

It was not a narrow win. Brook controlled that fight you hater.

Brook could be the best of them all. That's the frustrating thing regarding him. 30+ fights in, including 3/4 world title fights and we are still asking questions

I think Garcia, Bradley, Brook, and Thurman are all mutually 50/50, with Vargas being very clearly below them.

I'm not saying Porter was not a legit win.
He was a good win, a genuine title holder but for me there's still another 5 or 6 guys I'd pick ahead of Shaun, the names being discussed in this thread funnily.

Brook has also gone on to fight utter garbage since winning the title.

So he is now a guy who has held a world title for nearly 2 years with one solid, legit (but not spectacular) win.

He needs to step up and step up soon. He needs to fight a Thurman or Garcia type opponent.

He deserves credit for that win, for doing it in his opponents back yard and beating a top 10 guy who was a legit belt holder. But lets not get carried away

On one card he won 9 rounds to 3 and on another he won 8 rounds to 4. One judge had it a draw but that always happens in the US without fail. So your problem is that you do not know how to score a fight. I agree with you Brook has not fought anyone since but he is taking on the mandatory's or he would have to surrender the belt. Right now no one is fighting anyone in this division so he is right with the rest of them. His stabbing incident also set him back. All the groundwork was laid out for Kahn and Brook chased that fight because of the money involved and the payday but Kahn was too chicken to fight the guy. Brook is for real but no one in the US is gonna travel to the UK and even if he would come to the US few would get in the ring with him because you know how it is these days with so many North Americans. They do not want to fight anyone and they prove it time and time again.

His recent opposition has been dross, but I think he could beat everyone else in the division and I don't have an issue with the opinion that he's the best at 147.

I also thought he beat Porter clearly, by as much as 9 rounds to 3. Porter may not be amazing but I think he's top 5-6 and there aren't many recent wins at WW that top that, so while Brook's last three opponents have been disappointing I wouldn't keep saying that he's unproven.

but thats not the issue. you asked me, who brook beats and i told you, everybody but spence and thurman. against thurman he would have better chances, cause brook can be a technical nightmare. but spence he is too good for anybody.

I think Brook is quality and beats most of these guys (possibly hammers some of them) but let's not start comparing depth of resume, because Kells CV sucks ass!

Garcia's wins were at 140. Above 140 he has not done anything and he would get crushed by Brook I can assure you of that. You don't see Angel mouthing off about Brook cause he knows his son would get his ass kicked.

Maidana is retired by the way. Chino weighs somewhere close to 200 pounds these days. He is done.

A lot of the fights you are talking about were at lower weight levels and really do not mean anything right now at all.

I just think if you are gonna call Brook out call em all out because no one is fighting anyone. And Bradley an d Pac are weak right now. That is a garbage fight and neither of those guys are in the top tier of WW's for me. Pac is on the way out the door and Bradley is a nice hyped fighter by HBO squeezing every last drop out of an overrated guy. Nothing more.

I agree, he would pummel some of the top 10 rated welters, but you simply questioned their resumes.
You said compare him to the "the other WW's who have zero quality wins."
In terms of pure quality of opposition his CV is relatively weak and there are numerous examples of better wins and stronger overall records


I'd dispute the claim that he'd crush Garcia however. I've underestimated Danny more times than I should have, I think he's a live threat in the WW division

The IBF need to take part of the blame. How can they justify having Jo Jo Dann then Kevin Brizier as #1 mandatory challengers in arguably the strongest division in world boxing?! Their top 10 is a joke. Seriously. Only a retard would come up with it as a top 10.

I hoped he'd turned a corner when he went over and beat Porter, but he's been treading water again ever since. I think the division is wide open for a fighter like him, I don't think there's any fighter out there right now that Kell should be massively wary of. I'd fancy him against any of the other top welterweights currently. I would love to see him fight Garcia and Thurman, if he gets his arse in gear he could unify the welterweight division as it stands.
