I just hope he can keep doing the weight for another couple of years. Really like watching him but he's huge for the division, can he clean it up before he goes to LH.

I hope you are right as He seems like a really decent bloke as well as being a fantastic boxer . He always comes across as being very humble and I hope this remains when he makes it really big.

Guys built like Callum have always been my favourite fighters to watch e.g. young Lewis, Hearns, Monzon and such. They look how I think fighters should. I don't like my fighters to look like bodybuilders (that's no disrespect to iron pumpers btw).

It's in Boxing News this week, he was really into teenage mutant ninja turtle as a kid and one of them was called Callumundo (apparently).

Every time he's out I think it's a tough test. He keeps proving me wrong. I've learned my lesson that now.

I think the last two wins have flattered to deceive slightly. They keep banging on about Deglae going 12 with Mohamadi but that was 4 years ago and DeGale wasn't in anywhere near the kind of form he is now. He was thinking of quitting boxing and becoming a personal trainer.

Callum shipped a few shots early and I think he won't look as good when he enters world class. I don't rate Jack much but Degale would be all wrong for Smith. Smith needs to fight someone like Groves, Bute or one of the Dirrell brothers to see where he's really at.

I'd love to see him fight Groves.

He shouldn't be scared of anyone in the division now.

There has never been a TMNT called Callumundo, to my knowledge (knowledge which is force-fed to me by my young son who is nuts about them). The four turtles were Donatello, Raphael, Leonardo and Michaelangelo. On a quick check, only Mundo-type connections are:

- the company that made the plastic toy TMNTs is Mondo toys. So there could have been plenty of TMNT packaging around the Smith house with Mondo on it.

- Mondo Gecko was a minor character in the series, who also appeared in the spin-off Mighty Mutanimals - see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mighty_Mu ... ondo_Gecko for more details. But a "4 ft. humanoid mutant leopard gecko" is very clearly not a turtle.

Other option is that Callum may have simply made up his own Turtle name - if so, Callumundo is a very good effort. If he did, I think he should explain what Turtle names the other Smith brothers gave themselves (or what names Callum gave them). Surely Liamnardo must have been one?

De Gale-Smith is a great future fight.

Is it big enough for PPV though?

I personally think he beats everyone in the division.

Great research! I remember all the Turtles were names after rennaissance artists

I'm not sure if Smith is very good or if he's a light heavy who can get down to 12 stone.

I think mundo means world in Spanish, there may be a tedious link there somewhere.

No, you're right though I'd like to imagine his record was down to talent rather than weight/size advantage.

No, I'm with you. We just don't know yet, he's clearly very big at the weight. We'll know when he steps up in class, or weight I guess.

Smith looks great going forward.

From what I've seen so far, if his opponent is coming forward he'll move back in a straight line with high hands but no head-movement.
