Anyone know of any pubs within stumbling distance of Clapham Junction that will be / might be showing the fight? Will be arriving back there around 10.30pm after a days' drinking at Plymouth Argyle seeing the mighty AFC Wimbledon!

In my experience, pubs don't show boxing any more, really if you want to watch boxing in a public environment, you need a dedicated sports bar. Pubs only show sports in the afternoon usually.

Thanks - but as the is PPV I'm guessing that not all pubs will be getting it.

Might have to call a few.

You'll have to travel to the ninth ring of hell that is a central London 'sports bar' (chav club) or casino.

VERY few will. Pubs are not interested in showing boxing.

Rileys in Victoria used to show the big fights, as did Sports Bar in Piccadilly - though that was a while ago.

I've watched a fight here before and the atmosphere was pretty good when you've got a large crowd.

Yeah I think that pub finder thing only gives you pubs with Sky sports so they won't necessarily have the box office on. I can't go watching boxing in pubs. Can't listen to all the 'experts' talking brown!

Suprised more pubs don't, a pub near me gets all the ppv and has b o x n a t i o n and for a big fight it will be packed and the bar must take a lot of money. How much do they charge pubs for ppv?

Looking at the link for sports bar and grill, doesn't even look like they're showing it. Must be pretty expensive to get a PPV like that for a pub or bar.

Rileys probably the best bet, but looking again, they contradict themselves, at first it says 5 quid, then you get it back as bar tab, then in the next sentence, it says 10 pounds 'entry only'

I'm buggered If I'm giving Rileys 10 quid to get in. Can watch it at home and spend less money for not a lot more.

Where do you live?

Pubs pay different amounts depending on the size of the venue if I remember rightly, it's not cheap I know that much.

I watched Frampton-Quigg in the sports bar & grill next to Marylebone station.

If venturing more centrally I watched the Frampton fight in the Red Lion at Angel, the Steam Engine down Upper Street was also showing that one too. Just looked and the Red Lion are definitely showing it http://www.oldredliontheatre.co.uk/live-sport.html

....nowhere near Clapham mind but only about 15 stops on the Northern line away...

worth checking your locals, and avoiding the near death experience of a large sports bar, as there will be either a boxing fan land lord, or someone who realizes that AJ fighting for a world HW title is big news and will likely pull in the punters who will have seen it mentioned on the news etc..

It's usually 15/16 quid I'm sure. You have Lee Selby against an unheralded American, Groves v Brophy and Macklin v Rose, McDonnell defending his title. The only fight I can't be certain about is Macklin V Rose the rest I reckon are pretty straight forward wins for the home fighters. Even at that I think Rose does Macklin late or on points.

There's a Riley's just 5 mins away from me funnily enough. It's a pool/snooker place. Is it a chain or just two places with same name?

St Albans so will be even busier on Saturday night being so close to where AJ is from. Helps that the landlord is into boxing.

Thought it must be outside London, most boozers in London have DJ's or some other sort of thing going on weekends to keep the punters happy.

It's a chain, used to be owned by.....Barry Hearn. Not sure if it still is. There used to be quite a few more of them I think, but seems like there's only a handful left now.

The World's End in Finsbury Park is where I was planning on watching this but as they don't appear to be showing it this time around the above is very useful information
