Apparently he started hearing voices after the Tua fight, I wouldn't be surprised if he sustained some sort of brain damage during that fight. He did seem to go absolutely doolally.

Isn't this 'hearing voices after the Tua fight' mere Wikipedia apocrypha? I read many profiles of the President when he was free and at large and I didn't need to delve between the lines to see that perfect derangement had been a lifelong condition.

I've read bits and pieces during Ibeabuchi's imprisonment from his old manager (Munisteri?) and he seemed keen to tarnish his old fighter's reputation. Talk of him being 'dominated' in sparring by Kirk Johnson, as if that meant anything even assuming it were true. I doubt the fragile Johnson would have coped with a full contact 12 round fight with Ibeabuchi, sans headguard. Who knows with Ike. But to start hearing voices after a fight would be a first, even for boxing. From what I could see he was born mad, his mother was mad, he was sent off to the states to stop him doing mad things etc etc.

The scumbag is still refusing to man up and apologize for his crimes. I hope he takes a beating, like he would have if he'd fought Lennox back in the day.

I am franky amazed the US have not deported him and can only suppose that IB's lawyers have somehow been able to make some sort of case that a return to Nigeria would have a negative impact on his overall welfare/stability.

I don't want to see him fight again but strongly suspect that is exactly what will happen. He'll turn-up somewhere knocking over tomato cans for rent/grocery money or will simply grab the first big fight he can take. Either way, it won't be very edifying and is unlikely to end well.
