2:43 * As the two fighters back away a step, you can see blood on the chest and shoulder of Jones Jr but it's not his. Evander Holyfield is bleeding a bit more heavily now and even though the damage isn't over an eye, apparently the referee wants a stop in the action to have Holyfield examined by the ringside doctor. 3:25
2:43 * The referee won't stop the fight on his own if the reason for the stoppage directly has to do with a cut or swelling; he'll always consult the ringside doctor. In Evander Holyfield's favor, the bleeding isn't flowing into either of his eyes. 16:7
1:42 * The doctor is peering at the wound and he's shrugged his shoulders and he's shaking his head - is that a good thing or bad? Well, it's good from Holyfield's perspective and the cheer that arises from the crowd tells us all we need to know: there's going to be more fisticuffs in just a moment. Good fight with Froch and Gomez. Froch fought the good fight, dropped Gomez in Round 1, but Gomez was just too sharp and pulled away from us over the course of the fight. Still though I'm proud of Froch's effort, Gomez knows he was in a fight.

Second time Calzaghe has been cut early and throws him off the whole fight. Disappointing loss, but Nelson came to win. Hats off to him. I'm sure we'll see him down the road.

Seeing as how we're both coming off losses now seems like a fine time for Froch vs Calzaghe 2 in Week 23. Whaddya think about it?
