Charlie Martins Purse

I know a couple of you opened this thread anticipating a heated discussion about whether it's a Louis Vetton or a cheap knock off from Turkey so I'm sorry to disappoint you.
I read on a blog elsewhere that Martin is getting $8,000,000
I can't believe that.
Anyone have any idea what he's getting? I will accept wild speculation masked as "in the know" as a valid answer.

Honestly 5 seems very high to me. I have no idea so I'm just pulling numbers but I'd have figured 2 at the very most.

After years of watching American heavyweight champions, on average they get 10% of what is reported of the purse

Not sure what the current exchange rate is but 5 million quid is usually around 8 million dollars, more or less.

All right for some. Whereabouts, how long have you been there, and how do you like it? Cheers.

Came out 19 years ago to work on cruiseships & realised I like sunshine. Lived in Cali for 8 years & came back to Florida 4 years ago to work at the Hard Rock casino in Fort Lauderdale. Can't work casinos anymore as I got sick from breathing in 2nd hand smoke for 8/10 hours a night for donkeys years so now I sell organic wine in a shop in Sarasota.
It's brilliant here. I live by the beach in a quiet little place, great cycling trails, angry rednecks, crazy old people, cheap rent, friendly gators & pelicans aplenty.
It's much better than Kidbrooke anyway

Are keyboards different in Florida?

Sounds like you're having a good time. I long for the sun but need to stay here for a while.

He got $250K for winning the belt so I'm sure any purse in the millions and he will be laughing.

Yup fair play to him and if he pulls of the upset, he could be in for some more massive pay days over here against Fury and Haye.

This is where the big men have it easy, a bog standard heavyweight earning this much, but in the lower weights you need to be at the top level in boxing ability, to get anywhere near this kind of cash? (there is the obvious exceptions)

I generally sit in a bar looking at the sun over the water.

BTW, I didn't know that was a requirement. I mean, you often get that impression but still. Any way, more power to you. #pride.
