He's not fighting Wilder, Fury, Haye, Klitschko, Ortiz or Povetkin next we know that (and I don't expect him to either to be honest)

Above is the top 15 of the IBF rankings minus Martin and AJ. I can see him picking a voluntary from the lower orders of that list (say Breazeale or Miller), then probably have a slightly harder "learning fight" from that list, Stiverne probably a good one, with the former world champion label.

When when he has to take a mandatory, which is likely to be Pulev after he beats Chisora or the winner of Takam/Parker, he'll honour that.
If he comes through all that unscathed, then we'll see him in with whoever represents the best payday out of Haye, Fury or Wilder.

I think Stiverne might be a good test.

Stiverne is a recent trinket holder & is known to be tough.

He's also only just on the slide, so if Joshua can smoke him, or at least beat Bermaine comfortably, that will stand him in good stead.

Chisora is a pudding that has lost every time he has stepped up in class.

It would be a shock to me if Dereck beats pulev, although it's not impossible in HW boxing, as we all know.

Pulev isn't as good as Fury, Klitschko or Haye though, in my opinion.

Agreed, although I'm not quite sure about Haye at the moment as he hasn't fought anyone that isn't clinically deceased since embarking on his retirement tour in January & hasn't fought anyone decent in almost five years.

The winner of Carlos Takam - Joseph (that's the real name as far as I know) Parker is the mandatory, I expect him to fight his mandatory first, since AJ isn't like Deontay Wilder who's selecting the biggest bums possible as a fight and after that I expect him to fight the winner of Lucas Browne/Chagaev for the WBA belt. After that fight Tyson Fury.

Tyson Fury meanwhile fights Klitschko, Wilder, perhaps Ortiz and then AJ.


Or well this situation sounds like the most fair to me.

Because I believe him to be the better fighter in most departments
I'm aware I'm pretty much in the minority on here, in as far as I still rate Pulev. I think a lot of people were too quick to group in with other chumps that Klitschko knocked out down the years, like the Pianetas and the Wachs of this world

well certainly reward anyway.

As for risk, if AJ gets through the 2 voluntaries and a mandatory I've listed above, they will have had plenty of learning fights and they will be 18 down the line and made plenty of dough on the AJ train. They will be more confident in the knowledge that AJ is world class (if he actually is) and they will also be, at that point, under serious pressure to deliver a proper big fight for him.

In 2 years time, will Haye be a significant risk? We can only speculate
Is Wilder that big a risk? He's almost as unproven as AJ at the moment, I'd say it's a pick-em fight right now, let alone 2 years from now.

As for Fury. If AJ and Fury are both still world champions this time in 2018. That will be a mega fight. That will be a Wembley fight.
That will be one Hearn won't be thinking about risk, he'll be too blinded by the £££ signs in his eyes and deafened by the the words "rematch clause" ringing around his head

We all know it's not going to be someone whose actually good.

I'll go with Malik Scott. Looks credible on paper for the Moron Casuals to start salivating over but will go down as soon as Joshua looks at him the wrong way. Chisora isn't out of the question either if he beats Pulev. An all British fight to draw in the casuals and a relatively easy nights work for AJ.

I'd love him to defend against Ortiz but that will never happen.

It'll be a safe bet. Glazkhov fits the bill there. They'll try and spin it in the direction of 'Glazkhov could've been champ if he wasn't injured so it's only fair' blah blah. Looking forward to the winner of Parker v Takam getting a go. That will be a proper fight.

Glazkov, Takam ( who will beat Parker ) and then Pulev. Beat that lot then it's time to try and unify.

Martin was disgracefully poor and I feel a little embarrassed at myself thinking this could have bee a 50/50. I think Martin will virtually disappear now into the sunset with his purse and I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't fight again.

Regarding next for Joshua, with all the major players occupied like Fury, Haye, Klitschko, Povetkin, Wilder, Pulev, Chisora, Browne etc. I think Duhaupass would be excellent as a voluntary having gone 11 with Wilder and just having stopped Helenius pretty brutally.

I can't see Stiverne because of Don King.

It will probably be Molina though

Wilder is a lot more proven than Joshua. He currently has a much better record.

He beat Malik Scott, though got a lucky stoppage in a fairly even fight, most agree he beat Helenius too. He's not great but a decent test. Big upset if he won though.

Duhaupas, while he would have little chance, would be more useful for the rounds than a better fighter who would be knocked over would be.
