Absolutely a stupid fight for Pacquiao. It would only happen at 154, and the highest Pac has been is at 150. Canelo would beat him up badly because of their styles. At least Khan is bigger physically, and can run.
Arum is for it because he wants one more big cash fight before he kicks the bucket, and doesn't give a crap what happens to Pacquiao. The only fight dumber than this one is Pac vs GGG.

Canelo couldn't land on Lara. If Pac forces a rehydration limit, then slow dehydrated Canelo may not be able to land on him and whatever he lands will not be so powerful.

This fight makes perfect sense since Canelo has no interest in fighting real middleweights .

Canelo will agree to a 160 pound limit for a fight against Pacman though. Not for GGG but definitely for Pac. Then we might get a 140 pound Middleweight Champion of the world. Wouldn't that be great for boxing?
