Who do you think is a good next opponent:

- Sturm
- Chudinov
- Jack
- DeGale
- Chavez Jr
- one of Dirrells
- Callum Smith
- Groves / Murray
- an easy opponent

It's going to be a gimme so easy opposition for me.

I am glad we got rid of German that was holding one belt hostage. Unfortunately there is another one still holding another. Ramirez is a great addition to the SMW mix. Problem is that there are lots of Haymon and Matchroom fighters in the division that wont exactly be dieing to take on a very dangerous Mexican. Maybe DeGale can be persuaded. Or Andre Dirrell. Othewrise we will have to wait for when George Groves is available. Because he will fight him.

DeGale
Jack
Andre Dirren
Callum Smith
Groves

Are all good fights.

Why not Sturm ? Easy fight for an additional belt.

Its easy an therefore not interesting fight as such. I'd love someone to take away belt from him but thats why he is fighting bums and not real contenders. It wont happen.

Sturm - Nah. Unlkely to be made and not interesting enough anyway.
Chudinov - Could be a pretty good fight. Might end up being low on drama though.
Jack, DeGale - Would rather they fought each other next.
Chavez Jr - If he can make weight it could be fun.
one of Dirrells - Wouldn't hate it if he fought either but would prefer Andre (he's just the better brother).
Callum Smith - Could be an excellent fight. CSmith has moved through the levels below world level imperiously so it'd be interesting to see him take one of the top ten. Think their styles would gel as well.
Groves / Murray - Would rather they fought each other, winner gets another chance at a belt. Wouldn't hate Zurdo-Groves though.
An easy opponent - Don't really want an easy opponent for any champion. Would depend on the opponent and the circumstance though.

By the way, he is now rated as #1 SMW by boxrec.

Premature I'd say. Abraham wasn't the best in the division.

Ramirez may well be, but I would say it's premature to crown him quite yet.

Then again, boxrec rankings are boxrec rankings

The Callum Smith fight would be a great fight.

I personally favour Smith to beat him.

Both young and unbeaten so it could turn into a bigger fight down the road if they both keep on winning.

Abraham was always going to struggle as soon as he went abroad to defend.

It appears that Loefler considers Ramirez as a plan C for Golovkin in case both Canelo and Saunders duck.

Any except Chavez Jr. would be fine by me. Chavez doesn't deserve it.

I had Abraham ranked #1 personally, but I will say the Super Middleweight division is wide open and there's really no clear #1 guy and hasn't been without Ward being active there.

James DeGale should be the SMW #1 atm. DeGale would beat Zurdo head to head imo.

I would love to see that fight. After seeing Zurdo's work rate against Abraham, I think that would be a 50/50 fight.

Agreed. DeGale got to be number #1 in the division now.
