When a big fight is announced, are you a. More interested in who will win and how or b. The actual anticipation of watching the fight for its entertainment factor?

They both seem to be connected. I react a bit vicariously thru others. IE. I usually don't care if the American wins, but so many root against the Americans, it does it make it more fun when they win.

Entertainment, as a result I tend to prefer watching lower level action fighters to top tier guys

Depends what fight is being announced. There's some fighters I just can't get excited about, though I'll watch anyway.

Great question...

I don't think they are mutually exclusive. The more difficult it is to ascertain ahead of time who will win, the better obviously. Similarly, the better the fight seems on paper in terms of style match up and potential for action and/or an explosive finish, the better.

Having said that, I think the potential for action outweighs who will win just slightly for me, but magnitude and doubt about who will prevail is huge. No fight that delivers pretty serious action can disappoint, a fight where you don't know who will prevail going in, can absolutely disappoint.

And I think we ALL know what recent fight we are talking about here.. :OhYes:

For me it all depends on who is fighting,
For example if it's prov vs matthysse, I didn't care about the result just excited to see the fight.
If it's fury vs vlad 2 I'm much more interested in the outcome and the significance of it rather than the action of the fight

It's depends on who's involved in the fight for me all well. If there is someone I root for involved I'm not bothered if it's not the most entertaining fight, I just want my guy to win. If it's a fight I don't really have a favorite I always hope for a great entertaining fight, especially if it's a fight that could be entertaining on paper. But the truth is, I enjoy all styles that most on here don't care to watch. I like a great chess match where 2 fighters are very evenly matched yet have respect for each other and it's very tactical, I don't need a slug fest with tons of clean shots landed and knock downs.. But at the same time I always appreciate a great action packed fight.

Entertainment trumps all. I would rather watch entertainment than watch one of my favourites stink up the joint. I watch boxing in hopes of being entertained.

For me it's about who wins.

If a fight is 50/50 on paper and I can't tell who's going to win I usually enjoy the fight regardless of how entertaining it was.

I don't tend to have that many 'favourite' boxers, so it's all about the entertainment for me.

Unless it has someone in it I particularly dislike, I more just want it to be a good competitive fight.

I just like to predict and see if I'm right.

Most of the time I am, somehow not allways, I expected Wladimir Klitschko to win against Tyson Fury for example.
