Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2

Old Bob was quoted in today's press that he believes a rematch is "more likely than not".
When Floyd announced his retirement i believed it. I think his wealth burned out his desire for boxing. With Pacquiao though i think boxing runs deeper, and he was sensational against Bradley. I think we'll see Pac again.
Could the lion share of 3m buys get Floyd out of retirement for another go-round against Pac?

It may happen.
But to trust a single word Bob Arum says is foolish.
The guy lies like a politician

I doubt very much that it will happen, but just the fact it's being talked about is awesome.

There is no way Manny can beat Floyd in Vegas. Also, if it happens, I hope that the PPV will not do so good. PPV need to die.

If Pacquiao loses in the election that must be an almost certainty.

It was just his opinion though, i can't imagine he has sooke to either guy about it right now.
Maybe he thinks it's the only door open now for Pac. Marquez is retired and he'd beat the brakes off Crawford. Not many options.

I'd imagine Bob is 100% for the idea, and this is his way of pitching it to Floyd. Pac wants to retire, but would no doubt stick it out for a huge Mayweather payday (and may fancy his chances in a rematch, especially given Floyds retirement) and Fat Boab is all about the money. I'd guess he'd make more on that fight then the rest of his cards for that year.

They won't do more than 1.2 million or so, still a big payday and easy money for Floyd.

I don't think Manny could beat Floyd anywhere with legitimate officiating and judging.

Why?
Thought it was downright painful to watch.

It was probably the most bored I'd ever been watching a boxing match.
But a chance to see the two best of their generation at it again? Count me in. They may even land 100 punches combined this time

I know what you mean. But I'd rather watch Foreman-Lyle 4th round than Leonard-Benitiz if I may give a dated reference. I know that's not the "right" answer. May-Pac 1 was just so predicable I admit I didn't purchase it. IMO if May fights again he should move up and challenge GGG, but he won't.

He was pretty close in the first fight. If the shoulder story is true, then he can do better.

But he won the last fight

While I had their fight close, I only gave Manny one of the last six rounds. I think the rematch would continue from where it left off and would be a wider points decision win for Floyd in an even more boring fight (I actually don't think the first was as bad as most do). Had they fought in 2010 it would have been a much better, more exciting fight and Manny would have had a really good chance of winning.

Instead of Pay Per View they should do Pay Per Enjoyment in which we watch the fight & then pay them accordingly as to how entertaining it was.
Their first fight was worth about 18 cents.

I don't buy the Shoulder story. Just struck me as a convenient excuse for losing.

Pacman will win if there is a rematch.

I won't speculate on the shoulder, but that fight wasn't remotely close.

Hopefully Floyd stays gone. Most boring fighter in the world.

If that were the case Floyd would be in serious debt for his garbage run at 147 154 & 152.

They talked about the last one for almost seven years before the first fight, so the two of them will probably in their early to mid 40s when they square off for a potential rematch.

I thought it was a blow out. No need for a rematch

Maybe a bit harsh, Floyd did his thing and deffo won at least a couple of rounds, even in the rounds he lost, he stunk them out enough that the commentators had him winning them.
Wether or not i would want to see a rematch would be based on Floyd's attitude going in, if he just wanted the money whilst doing the absolute minimum required of him, like he has done against every fighter since Hatton, then i'm not interested in watching him vs anyone. If he went into it, like he had something to prove, like he did against Hatton, i'd watch him vs Pacquiao for a second go round.
