Brendan ingle footwork

For years I've been fascinated with ingle fighters and their elusiveness, and I've read loads about their footwork drills. The success they've had obv speaks for itself. However, this is the only clip I've found of someone doing the famous "lines" at wincobank. Now I'm far from a boxing expert, but surely when their feet meet on the Middle line they are off balance? Would this not teach kids bad habits for others to capitalise on? Is anyone on here more qualified to explain this method please? Is it just about teaching fighters his to switch stances? Oh and also, what do they use the circles for? Thanks.

The circles are for in and out stuff. Probably off the back foot into the smaller circle and off the front foot out of it. Working on angles and fluid movement. Throw in some punches as you do the foot drills and it's a pretty good session.

We use hula hoops on the floor in my gym which are a bit of a pain because when you get tired you catch them.

Isn't that one of the reasons Naz fell out with Brendan? Because he still had to do the lines and wanted preferential treatment, being the champ and Brendan didn't give him any?

With his skills and the money he earnt he was always going to be sitting pretty. Things wrong with it may have been him under-achieving and becoming unpopular in his hometown. Still, at least his brothers got a few quid.

How can having 30odd million quid in the bank underachieving? Doesn't realy matter what people think of him better off out of there anyway it's a dump?

Yes, things really worked out for Naz when he made those changes (just like it did for Mcguigan when he dropped Eastwood, Hatton when he dropped Graham etc.).

Boxers often don't mind paying their trainers etc a percentage when they don't earn much, but as soon as they hit the big money they think fornicate that I can do this myself or pay our kid to do it.

Depends on your motivation. I would personally rather be financially secure and wealthy and know that I'd made the best of what I had and done as much as I could have and knew exactly how good I was and that I'd given it my all in the ring than be richer but feel that I hadn't made the most of my talent. There is more to life that the accumulation of wealth.

I think you'll find once in that position your attitude changes your dreams and ambitons, to be the undisputed best at what you do , First and wealth Second will go by the wayside once you see there is vast amounts of money to be made going another way , Hence why so many hit the big time and leave there long standing mentor , There happy to pay say 10 % trainers fee and earn a milion quid a year ,, UNTIL Haymon , Hearn or whoever get in there ear and say look your the champ i can get you 5 milion a year , and a better trainer for 8%,,, Get more --pay less freindship and old loyaltys go out the window .

It does'nt just happen with the top fighters it happens to dozens and dozens , no hundreds and hundreds of trainers around the world.. Guys who put there heart and soul into training lads , bring them up from scratch , to top ameteurs or decent pro's then the shit kicks in and the sharks start circling , see a dollar and start with the freindly advice of how you have outgrown your trainer ,, come with me we have the contacts ect ect ect ... ask most trainers they have either been there or seen it .

Naz was a phenomenal talent who drew support from non-boxing fans (e.g. Michael Jackson) - he could have been up with Mayweather.

"Dump"? - You obviously didn't see his house in the Sheffield Hallam ward which has been claimed to be the richest in the country outside of Knightsbridge. Admittedly Parson Cross is a sh1thole!!

There's lots of different footwork routines besides the one shown.
Brendan actually got the lines patented. To get more information on them get down to the gym and pay your bloody subs. :D

Naz boxed for 20 odd years won countless amature titles was world champion 15 or so defences, lost to an all time great, gave it one more go knew the fire had gone out and sailed into the sunset. In Hamed's eyes he had done enough
He doesn't look like a man not satisfyed with what he achieved fantastic career an all time British great what more do you want.?
