All the GGG knockers

With all the GGG knockers on the boards saying he has fought no names, can you please explain to me why he should fight canelo at 155, if he really isn't that good then canelo should be able to beat him at 160, so where is the problem

Canelo doesn't have the balls to fight him at 160. Or anybody else for that matter. He'll be draining Middleweights down to 155 for as long as he can make that weight himself.

I don't think a fight between him and GGG would be any different whether it was at 155 or 160 personally, but it's the principle of the matter that GGG shouldn't go down to 155. He's a Middleweight Champion. Canelo is THE Middleweight Champion at the moment, and therefore the fight needs to be at 160 or else Canelo is a bitch. That's all there is to it.

The thing is Canelo isn't THE middleweight champion, is he!? Cotto never fought anyone 160 and nor has Canelo, the "lineal title" bullshit ended with Cotto, it is now meaningless in this context. The fact that Cotto, the "lineal" middleweight champion, and now Canelo, the same, have refused to fight the unified middleweight champion at middleweight makes that title worthless. Golovkin is THE middleweight champion if anyone is.

It all means nothing, after May 7th Canelo has a time frame to make a fight with Golovkin. If it hits a purse bid he can't enforce a catchweight. I think canelo drops the belt and they fight next year.

I don't get the argument that he's fought utter nobodies.

Lemiux is one of the top 5 fighters in the division and has the 2nd best KO record.

Murray was/is a solid top 10 fighter who arguably should have got the nod vs Martinez

Stevens was the current Great American Hypejob with desperate Americans picking him to KO GGG purely because he'd got a few highlight reel KOs against bums. Granted, in hindsight it's a poor fight since Stevens is crap but at the time it was the fight everyone wanted to see.

Macklin was another solid top 10 fighter who gave Martinez a good fight and was unlucky not to get the win against Sturm.

Then before stepping up to world level opponents he faced decent Euro level opponents like Proksa and Khomitsky.

He's not got a great resume, but it's better than his haters tend to make out. Plus it's kinda hard to fight the best when Saunders, Eubank Jr, Jacobs and Alvarez want nothing to do with him.

Find me something saying Lara and his team have tried to make this fight happen, I can't find anything

Canelo will fight Golovkin at 160. The kid has balls. This 155 catchweight is actually to favour Khan, i reckon kid ginger is going through hell to make 155.

He'll ko and cash in vs Khan, next up, GGG at full MW 160.

No, size of his balls was clearly exaggerated. He was willing to get humiliated by slick boxers like Mayweather and Lara, but he certainly seems to be hesitant to face a possibility to be flattened by Golovkin.

He has nowhere to go after Khan. He'll fight GGG, he's just stalling.

He will move down to 154 and fight Charlos/Andrade/Vanes.

I wish GGG would call Lara's bluff, send him a contract, and see if he backs off. Lara and his team have been making public statements for 2 years stating they want the GGG fight, and at 160. It would be a huge embarrassment for Lara if he ducked, since he has been shooting his mouth off. Lara said he didn't need to fight Andrade again, after Andrade called him out, since he beat him about 8 yrs ago in the amateurs. but.....Lara says he will fight anyone, anytime?

Lara isn't a huge name, but much better than about 99% of GGG's opponents. It's without question GGG is one of the most skilled boxers in the sport today, and he needs his biggest fights in the next two or three years or it may be too late.

As far as Canelo at 155, you can look at it two ways. Canelo is a chickenshit for holding a 160 belt hostage at 155. GGG, on the other hand, has said he would go to 154 to fight Mayweather. I think GGG is right demanding 160, and Canelo is looking down not up for guys to fight. (Khan for example)

He just to fight a challenge. GGG has never fought a 50/50 fight his whole career.

As much as I'm not thrilled with the actions of the last 2 Middleweight Champions, they're still the man that beat the man. So that counts for something, but yeah they've definitely made their titles less significant for sure.

Nobody at Middleweight is on an even playing field. He's too much better than them. The same can't be said for every other Middleweight.

No he won't. He can't make 154. Why do you think he faced Kirkland Angulo and Lara at 155? Negotiating catchweights for 1 extra pound shows you how much he is killing himself getting down to the LightMiddleweight limit.

This 155 catchweight is for Khan's benefit. The maximum weight Khan has fought at is 147. Canelo would have a huge advantage vs Khan at 160.

After this fight he'll compete at 160, and Golovkin is the only name he can face.

I dunno...

Maybe because he said he would.

You know, some stupid reason like keeping your word.

And, oh yeah, he is the guy saying he beats anyone in 3 or 4 weight classes, right?

Yeah, that.

No fighter has totally terrified his division as GGG has - ALL the top name challengers for him have run away and ducked the oppty - Canelo cotto sergio quillin jacobs saunders and even floyd ran away from a fight with GGG at 154 - even prime Tyson did not scare away his top challengers like GGG is presently doing - actually prime margarito made a lot of top welters look in other directions - but margarito wasn't an A side marquee star like GGG is now - he was still a bit of a mysterious guy in the shadows and holding the nominal WBO belt - it's historic what GGG is doing now in terrorizing and paralyzying his division with fear - but ever since Floyd and Roy established handpicking as a mainstream career tactic widescale ducking like what we are seeing being done to GGG is becoming more prevalent -

1) What you call a duck probably isn't- we know for example that Jacobs wants lil g right now, and Saunders later this year.
And no, declining a fight with a guy 2 weight classes above you is not running away, especially if bigger money fights are
plentiful with several other fighters.

2) Tyson and 'Cheato actually fought elite guys, so yeah, they probably did give some folks pause legitimately. Lil g? Not so much.

3) Lil g is not an A-side marquee star...unless you call a guy that cant break 100K PPV buys marquee. Let's put lil g's PPV
performance in perspective. He had 97,000 buys. Contrast that with the farce that was BHop vs RJJ II which got
150,000 PPV buys and was considered a fiasco. How does an upcoming alleged A-side do much, much worse than a
battle of has beens no one wanted to see?

To conclude, there is nothing historic in what lil g is doing and if he never boxed again, he'd never have even a
snowball's chance in Hades of making it to Canestota.

Are you even serious ??? He can make 155, but not 154 ??? He fought at 155 and 154.5 to not bother with paying sanctioning fees.
