in the last few years we have have had ,mayweather pacquiao,cotto,garcia, Saul, porter,Thurman,brook,khan, and we have had a hand full of fights, gutter .brook should be in his trilogy with thurman by now garcia rematching with pac man. so on. but we finally got mayweather v pacquiao 8 years to late, and still waiting with half the division moved up

The division is stacked, but it is seemingly so hard to get these guys into the ring with each other.

We should almost have had a '10s equivalent of the Big 4 in the '80s, but we've had nothing remotely resembling it, despite all the talent on offer.

Very disappointing.

It's a division full of duckers and cherry pickers who seem to do their best to avoid each other as much as possible.

I think the division gets overrated by the media a fair bit too, purely because it's one of the last few divisions that America dominates. There's little depth to it though. Once you get away from the top 7 or 8 fighters you start to reach bum city. Like Guerrero, Algieri, Rios, Peterson, Gavin and Bundu who just aren't that good. There's like a huge gulf in class between the Garcias, Brooks, Bradleys etc and the next level so whenever the top fighters face someone lower down the ladder, it's a complete mismatch.

Contrast to say, the Heavyweight division which is much more competitive overall with a lot of depth to the division. Even going as far back in the boxrec rankings to around #30 you're still finding good fighters who would be competitive with anyone. Unlike the WW division where it's a big list of bums.
