There is no question that it is very corrupt. Also Bayless refereed 4 of Floyd's last 5 fights of his career and was very biased for Floyd in the second Maidana fight that it was criminal.

Boxing is 100000000x more corrupt than MMA. It is much much easier to fix a 10-12 round fight than a 3 round fight. Your eyes also can't lie to you in MMA. Typically a guy is on his back or getting pounded against the fence. In boxing there is much more moving and jabbing and subject to interpretation.

I find the MMA fights very difficult to judge.
Weighing up striking vs grapling, not knowing sometimes who has the upper hand in wrestling terms.
Sometimes one guy can have the better of the action while they're on their feet then lose the battle on the floor.
5 minutes is a long time to remember who did what and it can take a lot of twists and turns in the time.

good points
someone punches are so fast, you see them clearly just in slow mow. hard to figure out if it was a clear punch connected or just air or guard.

Out of interest, who are "you guys"?
Who on this board attempts to defend the good name and honour of the sport of boxing.
Almost every one of us on here, to a man, loves to poopoo boxing, moans about the poor competition, screams from the roof tops about greedy promoters and the corruption that happen at every level.
There can't be another sport on the planet, where it's own fans spends so much time bitching about it.
Who are you guys?

Bayless was not paid off, but it did look like one extreme to another compared to Weeks in the first fight, when he didn't call anything, and let anything go. You could make the same argument that team Maidana paid off Weeks in the first fight, to allow double leg takedowns, arm twisting, low blows, head butts, holding and hitting, rabbit punches, kidney punches, etc. Its in the past, no use bitching about it anymore....the better guy won.
Boxing has been corrupt in one way or another for a long time. If it bothers folks too much they can go watch another sport.

Just because You a fan doesn't mean we just ignore corruption. Its a problem in the sport what's wrong with make a case to make the sport better instead of saying if you don't like everything about boxing you should stop watching it.

Please don't spill the beans about boxing being corrupt. It was a secret. Boxing is violent too. Don't tell anyone.

Boxing has always been corrupt and it is now worse than ever. At least the gangsters, like Blinky Palermo and Frankie Carbo, used to hide in the shadows, but now they are right there in front of your face, like the Don Kings and the Haymans. Boxing appeals to gangsters because it is violent and also because it is easy to fix the outcome. Gangsters like to gamble but they only like to win.
There are only a few guys to talk to, the ref and three judges, and they are already part of the family anyway. You wouldn't want the tv announcers yelling about it too loudly either. That's why they fired George Foreman after the Oquendo - Byrd fight. You might not be able to get the other guy to lose on purpose, but you can get your guy to do that. Easy sport to fix.

It's common in boxing for a boxer to also be the promoter.
Also common for the manager of one of the fighters and the promoter to be the same guy. That's patently ridiculous.

However I can't prove it. Boxing being totally corrupt..
Boxing... Poorly run or Corrupted.....It's likely a combination of both. IMO
