Sulaiman Hints At LIL g Diss

Boy, this sure doesn't sound like Canelo is going to be forced into anything...

"I think it would be disrespectful [to speculate on whether or not this fight will happen], especially for the opponents of Golovkin and Canelo. I think these are dangerous fights. They are scheduled to fight and until we know the results of April 23 and May 7, respectively, then we can see decide what the fighters are planning to do.

"Once we get past the results of those fights, we are going to meet with the promoters to find out what their intentions are, if they are actually planning to fight in December as they are saying, but for now we will not disrespect them or their opponents."

Canelo is a Mexican coward. There is a lot of money at play here. People do not realize that the WBC in conjunction with HBO has made up this 155 weight class just for HBO fighters Canelo and Cotto to drive PPV sales in a division that HBO made up. Now they kick some dough to the sanctioning bodies so this can all take place with the WBC title on the line. These sanctioning bodies are some of the most corrupt organizations in all of sports. Everyone knows this is a bunch of crap but Kellerman and Lampley are going to pedal these as real fights because they have to drive the HBO PPV sales. They are only paid whores. Nothing more.

There is nothing in what Sulaiman said hinting that they will allow Canelo to keep ducking. Brut just hears what he wants to hear.

This is from 11/16...before Canelo beat Cotto:

For what it’s worth, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman once again confirmed that the winner of this Saturday’s fight between WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez must face WBC mandatory challenger Gennady Golovkin in their next title defense if they want to retain the WBC title.

The Cotto-Canelo winner will have two weeks to decide what they’ll be doing. If they haven’t advised the WBC by that time, the WBC will then look to strip the winner of the fight.

“We confirm that the winner must face our interim champion, Golovkin,” said Mauricio Sulaiman to vivelohoy.com. “It’s a fight to be happen. No others can be given.”

Compare this language with the latest thing Sulaiman said in the OP, and you would have to be pretty stupid not to notice the shift.

Except this time there is a written agreement, and Golovkin's team will not agree to any additional warm-up fights.

I don't think there is any written agreement about weight.

And I don't think lil g will have ANY say in the matter about additional fights.

If Canelo wants more, he will get them.

Check out what Mauricio Sulaiman is saying about the Khan fight:

Speaking to World Boxing News, Sulaiman defended the catchweight saying: “The fight is for the WBC middleweight championship and if there is any weight agreement, such is a private contract between the fighters. The division limit is 160lbs, so any weight lower than that is considered as official and within the rules.”

http://fightland.vice.com/blog/the-wbc- ... itle-fight

If this is the guy that is going to have the final say on whether lil g has to go down to 155
or if Canelo is going to get stripped, I'd put my money on Canelo coming out of a no fight
situation with his title belt still around his waist.

LMAO!!!!!!

And GGG is a grossly overrated khazak who hasnt done squat in boxing yet feels he deserves the big names.

Say it with me "bum of the month none stop".

GGG has taken that saying to a whole new level.

It's a private matter between the fighters which means if the fighters come to an agreement and it's under 160 then it's ok, a catch weight has nothing to do with the WBC, that's what he is saying so unless GGG agrees to a catch weight then canelo vacates or gets stripped, l cannot comprehend how you cannot understand a catch weight doesn't concern the WBC

Clearly you are having a problem with reading comprehension.

That's the president of the body that is supposed to strip Canelo saying that a catchweight is fine to defend the belt.

So just what do you think is going to happen when Canelo goes to them and says "I am willing to defend but he wont agree to
the exact same weight you JUST LET ME DEFEND THE BELT AT PREVIOUSLY.

Who do you think they are going to side with?

I've seen 3 year olds with more brain capacity than you tooli, it is fine to defend the title at a catch weight, IF BOTH FIGHTERS AGREE TO THE WEIGHT where has GGG said he agrees to a catch weight, as long as the weight is within the division weight it is official, catch weights are an agreement between 2 fighters, NOT THE SANCTIONING BODY

The shift is that all parties agreed to allow an extra fight before any final agreement. It was at that stage the shift occurred, this however is nothing new.

The article says nothing about favoritism as the OP has hinted.

Indeed, bizarre thread from a clown with some creepy agenda.

Looks to me like the WBC are asking the media not to speculate on GGG-Canelo out of respect for their opponents (khan and wade) in up coming. Seems fair to me.

Precisely. GGG doesn't have to agree to anything. The WBC don't impose catchweight, nor any other sanctioning body.

This seemed like a good boxing topic to me, why would you ban him for talking boxing or boxing related news??

Is it considered Trolling when you someone doesn't agree with you and you make a post about something that is boxing related?? I'm just asking; I'm new here and do not know you guys history or what constitutes trolling.

As far as I can tell this GGG is an ongoing subject on many boxing forums not just here and yet no one gets banned for speaking about him in a way that is not pleasing to all.

It appears that there may be some favoritism of certain fighters that you cannot speak against or about or you get banned if you do, is this how the Forum Police act here??

Again, I'm not coming down on anyone, just trying to figure out who it is ok to discuss here without a ban and what is considered boxing news/newsworthy??

Oh so when someone doesn't agree with you just kick them out.

Wow real mature stuff pal.

This forum would be a lot better off without childish posters like you.

Ive been on this board a lot longer than you and it was a great board, still pretty much is except for posters like you.
