So its been announced (as I suspected) that the winners of Joseph Parker VS Carlos Takam and Dereck Chisora VS Kubrat Pulev must fight each other to determine who will face AJ before but no later than Jan 2017.

Now in an ideal world (for Matchroom I'd suggest) The winners of the above 2 fights would fight as the Main under card bout to AJ's last bout of 2016. Which I imagine would be around Oct. Setting up the BIG Mandatory IBF title fight for early 2017.

Who does everyone predict to make it out of this mini 4 man elimination series as AJ's Mandatory? And the #1 IBF Challenger? You;d imagine Chisora would be the first choice for Matchroom given his reputation and exposure he's had in the UK market but I think he's in 4th place of the 4. Winner of JP/Takam would be my favourite although Pulev could suprise

First of all, any one of these fighters is nearly deserving of waltzing into a title fight, apart from their lack of momentum. Definitely the winner of either half of the bracket deserves a title fight straight away, with nothing else to prove. But to force these fighters into a 4-way tournament to get a title shot... that's going to be one hell of a deserving title challenger.

I kind of feel like Parker goes 2-0 and Pulev goes 1-1. No way to really back that theory up, though; they are all in a very similar ballpark.

I thought the winner of Parker v Takam was the next in line to Challenge Joshua so Parker must win his next 2 fight's to get a shot my feeling is that he'll do that in style and then get his BIG chance

At least they've selected GOOD opponents for a change. Any of them would be a good opponent for Joshua. Usually the IBF has a tendency of giving eliminators to the scrubs in the division.

No ABC b/s can compete with WBA. They are the best to find scrubs for eliminators, contenders and champions

Well Parker has had a bit of hype having fought absolutely nobody in the next few months we will find out how good he is

This tournament seems like overkill. I'll be surprised if the winners meet.

Parker is in for a rude awakening when he hits Takam and Takam smiles and keeps coming forward. Takam is great value in that one, I think he stops Parker who seems a little soft to me.

Takam v Pulev is a bit of a pick em. Either way, the winner of this little series will be very deserving. It's how mandatories should be found

By the time the winner of the mandatory gets his shot, Joshua could well have wins over Stiverne and another. Unlikely the chalenger will have 'way more' credibility than the champion does.

Stiverne is not very good.

The winner will have way more credibility than Joshua currently possesses.

By the time that happens, I would be surprised if it's unified which would be a more fitting reward for going through that.

Looking into this.

If you are going by quality of opposition. Chisora and Pulev are the front runners as they have boxed for world titles and are both Former European belt holders. With Joseph Parker being the guy with the power and ambitions Takam is a live underdog. But not sure who my pick is though.

So is this the new trend then? Having eliminator tournaments?

Although in a perfect world it's a nice idea, in reality (a boxing world), what are the chances that the finalist of this little knockout tournament ever meet? I mean these guys are so inactive, maybe fighting 1-2 times a year. What about if one of them picks up an injury? Or if Joshua looks to unify one of the other belts? I mean it sounds like Fury/Klitchko may be tied up with the WBA for some time. IS he going to vacate to fight Wilder/Joshua?

I'd go Pulev to be last man standing out of the 4.

Doesn't beat Joshua in 2017 though. I see Joshua improving rapidly.

Fury needs to get him quick.

What exactly does Joshua need to do between now and fighting fury to be 'ready' for him?

Knock over someone like pulev or teper in three rounds? Because that's what would happen.

A years experience of being champion.
A years training in the gym and also fighting 2 opponents who are better than his current best opponent Whyte.

Parker should wait another year or so. He's younger than Joshua and still improving.

please, Please, PLEASE if there is a God in heaven make Chisora go away!.....Damn, why do the Brits keep him propped up?...He should fight David Haye and the loser retires and the winner just fades into the wallpaper.
