HBO said Brook turned down the Cotto fight, Hearn said HBO did not want the fight. Who's speaking the truth?

I don't know, it is possible both sides are only telling half the story.
Maybe Cottos team offered Brook the fight on a date that would clash with matchroom's next PPV and Brooks team countered with an offer later on in the year which didn't fit in well with HBOs schedule.

Whatever is happening I'd like to see the fight get made, it makes a lot of sense, Cotto wants as many big fights as possible in the time he has left and Brook desperately needs a big name on his record.

Brook needs a shop window fight stateside as his career has stalled in terms of interest from America with injuries and 'gimme fights' for mandatory defences in Bizier and Jo Jo Dan. And he needs the fights pretty soon.

If they both told me today was Thursday, I'd still have to go and check.

I'd say both sides just couldn't agree as Hearn can have a serious disillusionment of his fighters worth.

My principle is never believe a word that comes from Hearns mouth..

One of these guys has consistently fought the best guys out there for years. The other guy has feasted on sub par talent his entire career and squeaked by the only top level opponent faced. Brook should have manned up and done anything to finally get a name, but as expected does nothing.

Hearn's all talk mate does it all the time blames everyone round him, he claims Khan is ducking Brook yet he fights the monster that is Canelo at 155!! HEARN LOGIC!!

My guess is neither. Probably cotto that did not want the fight.
