Rigo may perhaps be the most skills, but his resume, particularly recently, doesn't hold up. His skills may have vastly deteriorated, he just hasn't fought anyone in years to show us either way. His chin makes him suspect in any p4p argument as well.

#1 p4p is either Kovalev or Golovkin. After Kovalev vs Ward if it ever happens, Ward may become #1.

Roman Gonzalez is HBO's number one. Considering he fights for HBO. That's their opinion. As far as I can see there is no legitimate number one since Mayweather left the sport. Or someone who everyone agrees upon...same name mentioned etc..

It means Ring and ESPN and HBO have Gonzalez number one..On BoxRec Canelo is number one. Gonzalez isn't in the running.

I don't care what anyone says Gonzalez is not #1. He gets hit way too much to be #1. As soon as he faces Inoue his undefeated record is gone.

Inoue is in a higher weight class and has a 3.5" reach advantage. Roman may not be #1, but he is definitely in top 5.

roman isnt #1. rigo is much more athletic, would beat him a p4p sense. also inoue is more athletic, regarless of weight the better boxer.

but a lot of media sites have gonzale #1 not because he is the best boxer, but because he achieved the most. staying undefeated in 45 fights, beating very good opponents like estrada or viloria is impressiv.

but p4p isnt about who you beat, but who would beat who would say have close to the same height and weight. in these terms rigondeaux is the best. the most athletic, amongs the best footork, good power, great speed and technicly on an elite level that only a handful of boxer possess. gonzales is not on this level.

boxing is 70 % all speed. a reasonable top 5 p4p list ever, every single one is super fast, no matter feet and hand.

I don't think we gotta argue P4P who could beat him. I think other Featherweights could beat him. Like Vasyl Lomachenko for instance, and yes I hate to break it to ya, but if they were the same size GGG would kick his ass and knock him out.

HBO is trying to star build around power and fighting style.

And yes, if you are really #10 p4p, and you are being sold as #1 p4p, you are overrated/overhyped.

While HBO, kings of integrity and matchmaking, are selling it as 100% legitimate.

I hope NETFLIX gets into boxing.

A 3 weight champion who won his first title almost 8 years ago is just "emerging"?

Truth is he's just emerging.in the US market, reality is he's a fighter who has emerged as a world class talent before Kovalev had even made his pro debut.

Can't wait for Inoue to make his US debut and see fans say he's never fought in front of an audience like the HBO one whilst his fights on Fuji T.v. draw draw circa 8million viewers...
