Sulaiman warns Canelo

WTF has that got to do with anything? Who gives a shite? In an age where there are so many belts, lineal title is meaningless. Did anyone really think Cotto was the best MW in the world?MachoTime wrote:Canelo would still technically be lineal champ at 160 even if stripped..?
Nobody would seriously consider that lineage.MachoTime wrote:Canelo would still technically be lineal champ at 160 even if stripped..?
Yep if Canelo was stripped for flat out refusing to fight his #1 contender then he's given up his title without a fight. Which is even worse than losing it.ikorolev wrote:Nobody would seriously consider that lineage.MachoTime wrote:Canelo would still technically be lineal champ at 160 even if stripped..?
He and HBO will spin it. He will kill himself to get down to 154 for his next fight. Then he will fight for a 154 trinket. Anything to look like he is not ducking. Same thing the Puerto Rican Cotto did. Not many accused Cotto of ducking GGG. He just got out of it for as long as he could. Same with Canelo.gilgamesh wrote:Yep if Canelo was stripped for flat out refusing to fight his #1 contender then he's given up his title without a fight. If the sanctioning body decides it wants to unify the titles.fanman wrote:By the way - i know the abc belts are garbage - but since when could champions of other belts become mandatories?
Golovkin won the interim WBC belt by beating Rubio and thus became WBC mandatory.fanman wrote:By the way - i know the abc belts are garbage - but since when could champions of other belts become mandatories?
"Ey GGG You are great as a person and fighter. do not wait for coward..amigo... September #MexicanStyle #mexicanday
And then Chavez told his followers - "If I don't make 168 [for the fight with Golovkin] I will give him my pay [for the fight]."
"Oscar can say whatever he wants....it's his right to do so, but we are also within our rights to take the title away from his boxer if he does not meet [his obligation]," said Sulaiman.
