The Algieri win made him a contender

as someone else said, Tim Bradley would fight him next week. That would be an interesting fight to see.
Also, One Time Thurman would fight him, although if he beats Porter, he'll probably look for a bigger payday fight next.

of course he hasn't beat any one of name yet , to be honest i was impressed how spence beat Chris van Heerden the tough south african stopped him bad, algieri just helps as he has fought other name fighters

I wouldn't use Kirkland when referring to Spence, ever. Two totally different situations and potentials.
Also, why the hesitation? GGG and Kovalev were sure things after their first HBO appearances and this kid isn't?

Spence looks to have the tools. I hope they match him tough from here on out. It'll stop him from relying on his power too much.

I seriously doubt Spence gets clobbered facing top level opposition. He is quite a bit better than Kirkland. Spence will probably get hit more and the top level opponents will last more rounds. It always seems to happen that way.

3 years ago, Golovkin and Kovalev were champions, but still had hard time finding good opponents. Who wants to fight a very dangerous opponent with no name or money attached like Spence ? He will have to get to mandatory positions and force champions to either fight him or vacate.

The first time Spence meets a guy he cant bully will be interesting

Stop bringing up championships. Some fighters proved more getting to the #1 contender spot, than many champions with multiple defenses.

Spence is just as real as GGG in Sept 2012. If you were jizzing yourself over GGG then, you should feel the same way about Spence now.

Eyeball test, Spence looks better than Crawford.

But whatever, Spence is with PBC (that's a thing to many people), some guys here aren't attracted to his personality (because GGG's smiling 2 sentences of broken English ... "Big drama show", was entertaining), and various other stupid reasons that boil down to ethnic taste. (If Spence were British, he'd be selling out arenas. If he were a 126 pound Filipino, HBO would sell half the company to get him)

Spence is the most exciting/promising fighter is boxing's hottest weight range. Let's get some momentum behind the dude. GGG hasn't fought big names, but he's been able to clean out the top 10 in his division. Kovalev hasn't gotten Stevenson, but he's also cleaned out his division's top 10.

Cut the shit and get with the unanimous enthusiasm ... enthusiasm, not a coronation.

Timmy is exactly that, a real fighter. Spence would be a load for anyone.

I saw an interview a couple of years back with Spence talking about sparring with Floyd. He was getting his ass handed to him at first, admitting he was giving Floyd too much respect. After getting over that he offered all Floyd could handle....and then some. The kid is the real deal, imo.

He said later he learned so much from Floyd, and how much he respected his work ethic. Floyd trained like he was poor. Floyd in the gym was a great role model for Spence.

I don't think anyone in the top 10 will be willing to fight him. Al Haymon will prob continue throwing Robert Guerrero in the furnace with this fight.

Spence can box beautifully, but as you said he's overly reliant on his power. Spence hasn't devised a way to box and use his power to augment it.
The truth is he won't need to in the short term. But if he has the ambition his talents merit, then he and his team will have to come up with something.
