Tony Bellew v Ilunga Makabu

I have mixed feelings on this. I haven't seen Makabu fight but I was following Thabiso Mchunu - who lost to Makabu last time out.

I thought Mchunu was the nuts (he may still come on) but Makabu took care of him & now he's the one fighting Bellew at Goodison Park.

How do you see the fight panning out?

Tony said something along the lines of '20 men wouldn't be able to stop me at Goodison on May 29th' so I'm going for a Makubu KO now.

Was there any mention of him giving it all in the ring, going out on his shield or feeding his kids ?

Surely he mentioned the fighting city of Liverpool? I would be disappointed if he didn't.

Not sure mate I switched off after the '20 men' part. He's a bore with all his crumby patter. Looking forward to the fight though.

Yeah, not as good as fury's "no man born of his mother" comment though.

Typical scouse gobshite is Boomer - all talk about 20 men yet didn't say a dicky bird when Fury called him David Price's gay lover live on tv !

Has this been confirmed and sales details etc given yet, just realised its about 4 weeks away and theyve gotta try and fill a football stadium.

Only way they are selling this anywhere close to capacity is if the tickets are mega cheap and they give some tickets away in the local paper. As you say, only 4 weeks away. All seems a bit slap dash to me.

There was talk of a 'rocket launcher' as well

May 29 will be my night. I will be victorious. I don't know how or when but it'd take a rocket launcher and 20 men to beat me at Goodison Park on that night.

Well the fight has been officially announced today. Watched Makabu earlier today against Kucher who Ovill McKenzie was supposed to be fighting tomorrow night.

Was a really good fight actually and it's over two years ago so very interesting if Makabu is better. Defensively he Is very good not the quickest on his feet but he varies his shots a lot and is very good on the inside. Also going of that fight he has no problem doing 12 in fact he got better as the fight went on.

In terms of the Bellew fight I wouldn't be surprised if it's dull early doors due to Bellews tactics, let's face it he hasn't been in an exciting fight for a while. Kucher engaged Makabu throughout the fight and there was literally no holding something I think Bellew will do a lot in this fight if he is allowed to.

Still very interesting fight im looking forward to. If Bellew pulls this of deservedly ( meaning no robbery on cards) then he deserves plaudits.
