Wow! Uchiyama annihilated in two rounds.

I hadn't seen Corrales before but he was very impressive and dominated the first prior to dropping Uchiyama thrice in the second. Props to Graham Houston for picking him to win.

funny thing about him is, he used to be a feather fisted puncher, like his first 10 fights were mostly ud wins.

but since 2014 he has been koing everybody, mostley in 1 or second round.

maybe he learned better how to put his whole body into a punch, ir worked on swinging hooks or counter punching, no matter what he is training, he should continue, it works.

That is very surprising. Uchiyama is one of my favourites and I didn't expect that result. He has been slipping the last couple of years but I still thought he was the top dog at his weight.

Who do you think is number one now? Does it go to Corrales now or someone like Fortuna or Pedraza? Walters maybe? It's a division I've not really seen enough of. I only seen Pedraza for the first time the other week.

Uchiyama is 36. At light weights, it is a lot. He may have just grown old.

The bettors had it right. Odds on this crashed before the fight.

Corralles is Ricardo Mayorga version 2.0 those were some wide shots he was throwing

Amazed he got up from the first knockdown. Corrales looks a bit crude but very entertaining. Reminded me almost of a peak Ricardo Mayorga.

Why was the fight stopped without a count ???

The WBA have a three knockdown rule.

I think that Corrales team spotted a weakness with Uchiyama's ability to deal with a southpaw's lead left. Honestly, Corrales completely outboxed Uchiyama on top of flooring him repeatedly. Corralles switched from back and forth from southp to conventional after hurting uchi, beautifully. He had uchiyama mystified in there.

Watch the Miura fight, in today's Boxing that was a war.

I'll say I think Lomachenko is the best at 30.

I too have vargas as number 1, but there is definitely no clear champ in the division. Would love to see lomachenko fight the winner of vargas-salido (assuming he beats Martinez).

Uchiyama had no answer for the speed, was simple as that.
Taguchi looked...interesting on the card, Kono vs Inthanon was an entertaining one sided bout...again showed Kono isn't anything special though

Nice flurries by Taguchi while going forward.

That Corrales looked impressive only 24 too.

Good thing is he can easily fight the other top guys in the weight as he wont have any good promotional ties.

Uchiyama seen him a few times and he was good very padded record IMO.

If I'm not mistaken this means Shinsuke Yamanaka is the longest reigning belt holder in the sport now ?

Same but if Loma beats Martinez for the WBO belt he would have to fight Berchelt to keep it which in fairness would be a decent fight. Though I would be surprised to see Loma give up that belt and fight the Vargas Salido winner he's all about the top fights.

Corrales has skills i know uchiyama was getting up in age but not just anyone could have done what Corrales did.

Age finally caught up with Uchiyama. One of my favourite fighters of recent years.

#1 spot up for grabs now but someone seriously needs to make Vargas-Miura 2. The fight I want to see more than any other this year.

Yeah same title though you're right it's Nietes just. True regarding Yamanka though hopefully Jamie McDonnell or Haskins are the one to end that reign.

It was a surprising result, but I was never nearly as taken with Uchiyama as a lot of people seemed to be. He's getting up there in age, too, obviously.

Uchiyama was clearly overrated and beside his impressive TKO12 winning the WBA title in 2010 from Juan Carlos Salgado and a good defense over Miura a few fights later, but most of his recent defenses came against 2nd-rate opposition. Apparently that's what his handlers thought Corrales was, but Jezreel has awesome power and demolished Takashi, who never showed much defense and even after he got dropped the first time he fought a very careless fight and never showed even basic survival skills:
